Update: Kitties are officially home 🥳

I am looking for the owner(s) of these two sweet babies 🐈‍⬛

The smaller female kitty appears to have been to a vet recently, as she has shaved spots where IVs would typically be placed, as well as a potentially shaved belly (visible in the second photo shared by the person who originally found them). I took her to the vet today and confirmed that she does not have a microchip.

Both cats are extremely friendly and clearly not feral. They appear to be bonded siblings and were found together in downtown Mission, B.C.

The outcomes I am hoping for are:

1. Reuniting them with their original owner(s)
2. Finding a loving home willing to take both cats together
3. Finding separate loving homes for each, if necessary
4. Coordinating with a rescue for placement and support

I will require photos for proof of ownership.

Not everyone understands why we would run a dog park from our home — why we would give up some privacy and allow strangers to wander our property.

But there’s an important piece missing from that line of thinking: these aren’t just strangers.

These are people who care deeply about their dogs.

People willing to drive long distances just so their reactive dog can safely run free. People searching for somewhere quiet for their anxious rescue. People looking for somewhere their dogs can truly just be dogs.

And over time, many of our guests inevitably stop feeling like strangers at all 💚

Brief interactions turn into long conversations about our dogs, nature, life, and everything in between. In a world where making genuine connections can sometimes feel difficult, there’s something really special about repeatedly crossing paths with people who share such a deep love for animals.

Yesterday, one of our guests brought us the sweetest gift basket addressed to “Kaci and Family,” and it contained something for everyone — snacks for the adults, an adorable hooded towel and outfit for baby, and toys for the girls 🐾 and the cutest little book.

So thoughtful, incredibly sweet, and completely unexpected.

Thank you, , Lisa, and Nate. I truly cannot thank you enough 🥹 you certainly made my eyes water.

I have to think Frog Hill has quietly become more than just a dog park. Somewhere along the way, it became a little community too 🌿

I love this time of year 🌿🌸

The air is fresh and inviting, everything is green and teeming with new life, the birds are busy again, and the forest slowly wakes back up – with new arrivals in tow 🐣

We planted this pink dogwood not only to add to the beauty of spring, but in honour of Monty 🤍

Each season it will bloom again, and with it, we’ll be reminded of him. I look forward to one day having picnics and reading beneath its branches while it flowers overhead.

Happy Easter 🐣🐰💚 we had a busy but lovely day! The weather was just gorgeous. Did you get up to anything special?

Once the last Sniffspot guests headed out, we started clearing prickle bushes. The girls love supervising yard work – and making sure I take plenty of breaks 🐾

We ate dinner outside, cooked over the fire 🔥 well earned after our earlier hike at Devil's Lake

I’m really looking forward to “bringing the magic” to holidays like this in the near future 🥹💚

I hate that I’m making this post, but I’m hoping to connect with anyone who has experience with dual cancer in dogs.

My mom’s little terrier mix has been diagnosed with both lymphoma and leukemia. We’re still waiting for results to learn which type of lymphoma it is, but I’m hoping to gather more information so my mom can make the best decision for him.

Monty is not even 2½ yet. He was rescued from California with his mom and siblings, and my mom fell in love with him instantly at an adoption event — I mean, how could she not? His little eyebrows and JRT personality stole her heart 🩵 sassy and feisty, but so incredibly loving and cuddly.

I know this may be lymphoma that has spread, but the vet referred to it as “dual cancer”. We’ll learn more at our next appointment… it’s just hard to sit still with this when time feels like it's passing so quickly.
