Rescuing a dog is one of the most rewarding, and challenging, jobs you will ever face. When you bring home a rescue dog, be prepared for the experience to be a journey, not a quick transition. Starting with training, love, and patience your rescue dog will become a beloved family member! Each rescue dog comes with their own story, fears and behaviour.

Nala has started a new chapter in life! She has joined the Bowen Therapy program to help balance her body during her transition to new beginnings. She may not have eyes and only has three legs but that does not stop her from enjoying her new life! Bowen Therapy is able to calm her anxiety, relax tense muscles and balance her intestinal health. Luna has a beautiful life ahead with her new owner! 🐾

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy. In dogs, it’s used as a noninvasive treatment intended to support healing, reduce pain, and improve mobility by delivering low-frequency electromagnetic pulses to tissues. PEMF helps dogs with:

• Arthritis and joint pain
• Hip dysplasia
• Post-surgical recovery
• Soft tissue injuries
• Back pain
• Inflammation
• Performance recovery in athletic dogs

Simba has been having some shoulder pain. He is now enjoying the benefits to PEMF Therapy to help reduce pain and start the healing process. 🐾

Have you ever experienced a tight muscle? It’s not a great feeling—it can cause pain and discomfort. Dogs feel the same way we do when their muscles are tight. Muscle tension can make your dog reluctant to move or play, yelp when touched, and even become more irritable.

There are several reasons your dog may develop tight muscles, including:
*Arthritis in the joints, which can cause surrounding muscles to tighten
*Old injuries that didn’t heal properly
*Stress and emotional trauma
*Overexertion from intense exercise

Kima joined the Bowen Therapy program to help relax her tight muscles and overall wellness. She was full of smiles after her first session! 🐾

A Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) is a connective tissue in the knee that stabilizes the lower leg to the upper leg. Dogs tear or rupture their CCL through running, jumping, heavy impact (jumping off the bed) or simply a sudden movement. Symptoms of CCL injuries in dogs include:
▪️Lameness or limping in the hind legs
▪️Favouring one hind leg
▪️Swelling around the knee
▪️Difficulty laying down or getting up
▪️Pain or tenderness near the injured knee

A vet is able to diagnose a rupture or partial torn CCL through X-rays, range of motion tests and lameness exam.

King recently had knee surgery to repair his ruptured CCL. He has started in the Hydrotherapy program to strengthen his knee, reduce inflammation and increase range of motion all while not applying stress to his joints! 🐾

Winter can be hard on our senior pets and their joints. The Hydrotherapy program that includes Bowen and PEMF Therapy can benefit your senior dog. Hydrotherapy is often used for dogs with hind end weakness—from conditions like arthritis, nerve problems, injury, or post-surgery recovery. The water environment changes how the body bears weight and moves, which helps dogs exercise safely while rebuilding strength.

Luna joined the Hydrotherapy program to build hind end strength without applying stress to her joints. 🐾
