Where dogs experience cage-free love while you’re away ❤️🐾

To help create a calm, safe, and stress-free check-in experience for every guest, we kindly ask all clients to follow our arrival system:

🟢 GREEN LIGHT = Please enter
🔴 RED LIGHT = Please wait at the gate until the family ahead has completed check-in

For the safety of all dogs and guests:
🐶 All dogs must remain on leash while entering and exiting the building
🚪 Only one family in the office at a time

These small steps help us maintain a smooth, structured, and personalized experience for every pup in our care 🐾

Victoria Day weekend is here, and the pups are officially ready for nonstop playtime, outdoor adventures, cuddle breaks, and all the tail wags that come with a fun-filled stay at Northside Dog Retreat. ☀️🐶

While you enjoy the long weekend, your dog deserves a place where they can feel safe, loved, social, and completely at home. From supervised group play to our relaxing rest times and large outdoor spaces, we make sure every pup has the perfect balance of fun and comfort all weekend long. ❤️

Reminder: Our office will be closed on Victoria Day Monday for drop-offs and pickups, but all pups staying with us will continue receiving the same love, care, playtime, and attention as always. 🐾

This means our team is currently assisting dogs, managing transitions, or helping with pickups and drop-offs.

🟢 GREEN LIGHT = You’re welcome to enter the office.
A team member is ready to assist you!

Before any overnight stay, we want every pup to feel safe, comfortable, and confident with us 🐾

Our Meet & Greets are an important first step in helping dogs adjust to the Northside experience. Since our dogs socialize together in a supervised cage-free environment, these evaluations help us properly introduce each pup into the group while learning their personality, comfort level, and social style.

Why Meet & Greets are so important:
• Helps dogs build confidence in a new environment
• Allows safe and proper introductions into the group setting
• Helps reduce stress and anxiety during future stays
• Gives your pup time to learn our routine and feel comfortable with our team

Our goal is to create a safe, structured, and positive experience where every dog can feel relaxed, social, and truly at home with us. ❤️

Here are 4 reasons we make sure our pups rest up at Northside Dog Retreat:

1️⃣ Physical recovery after all that fun and exercise.
2️⃣ Helps dogs process new environments, socialization, and stimulation.
3️⃣ Reduces stress levels and prevents overstimulation within the pack.
4️⃣ Supports overall health, mood, and emotional balance.

That’s why we incorporate a structured 2-hour rest interval into every dog’s day. In a cage-free environment, proper rest is essential — it allows pups to reset, recharge, and return to play feeling calm, happy, and balanced instead of overtired or overwhelmed. 🐾

At Northside, we believe the healthiest dogs are the ones who have the perfect balance of play, structure, and rest. 💛
