This Pride Month, OVMA is proud to celebrate and support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. 🏳️‍🌈

We believe the veterinary profession should be a welcoming, respectful and inclusive space for everyone, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. Creating environments where people feel safe, valued and supported helps strengthen our profession, our workplaces and the communities we serve.

While Pride Month is a celebration of love, identity and progress, it's also a reminder that meaningful work toward equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) must continue. We remain committed to fostering belonging, encouraging respectful dialogue and advancing initiatives that help build a more inclusive profession. Members can also access EDI resources through the OVMA website to support learning, awareness and continued growth.

This month and every month, we stand with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and reaffirm our commitment to acceptance, respect and equality.

Although common tick habitats include wooded areas, tall grasses and leaf litter, you can find a tick just about anywhere - even your own backyard.

Since they can latch onto a host quite easily, it's important to always thoroughly tick check yourself and your pets, and use parasite prevention for your pets. Speak to your veterinarian to learn more about pets and tick safety.
