One last hurrah with Pancake before he leaves for Cowgirl Cadillacs and starts a new chapter with the highest bidder. He took me for one more full circle ride- this ranch rodeo was one of the first ranch rodeos I had ever seen back in 2013. Back then I watched it, and at the lunch intermission they had a ladies goat milking event. The family I went with must have found me a partner to enter with because I knew no one. We had to take our haltered goat and lead/drag it to our designated ball of a certain color that was scattered around the arena. Then milk out enough to pour and run the cup to the judge. I know it was just a little fun and entertaining event, but we won it, and that was the start of the ranch rodeo bug for me. It wasn’t until probably 5 years later that i ever entered one. And I’ve competed off and on in the odd one in maybe 4 of the last 8 years. This weekend was the first time I had been back at that specific rodeo since 2013, and my team came home with the win. Also my first time winning with a team at a ranch rodeo ever.
Pancake was feeling a little fresh and eager in the arena, but when he had a job infront of him he still always got me in a working position, he held a big soggy critter like a rock, and didn’t move a muscle when one took a run at us and head butted him after getting up. Great way to finish off this chapter with him ♥️
