Back to Pet value for treats today, just because 😝 Today we ran into a massive Bernese Mountain dog and their new 8 week old addition, who Rosie adored!

She was there just last week, but this week she walks with confidence and pride around the aisles. Lots of treats for ignoring everything on the shelves and she met 5 more strangers before we headed back home.

Rosie's first day of crate training in her new Mint medium Ruffland kennel. Some dogs are more closterphobic than others; think of crate training as confinement training.

We want them feeling comfortable going in and out. We want them to be able to manipulate the door in and out on their own, without our hands being associated. I don't think Rosie appreciated as much crate time on the flight home as was necessary so we are working slowly. She has progressed so quickly in just a matter of minutes. Crate training is about trust and calm energy, take your time and feed them in it with the doors open.

It has been one hour since our first crate lesson and I have now seen Rosie run in on her own twice for a split second. 😍

Is Rosie making good decisions? Not today 😂 photo four is exactly how she feels all the time...Xena's toes and tail are chomp objects! Xena has been VERY tolerant but she is not enthusiastic about playing with Rosie until some respect is formed. 🧐

Hahahaha oh Pepper 🌶️🫑 Finally someone who wanted to play with you more, than you wanted to play with them! 😂 Rosie tried all her moves but Pepper wanted nothing to do with her. Instead Pepper rather sit on my lap, safe from the chomp monster!

Tug play without any treats. One week of letting her tug + win and I did not try to take it away from her. Today I want to play with her and need her to start controlling her emotions around her crazy prey drive. Rosie is learning to take and release for another take as the reward.

This skill is so helpful when training in public. I want my dog to want the toy so bad that they can ignore everything else happening around them.

A game isn't any fun if there aren't rules, slowly we add one rule at a time.
