Adoption 8๏ธโฃ 7๏ธโฃ ๐ฅบ๐ค๐งก
Congratulations to Marie and familyโฆ
This was one the hardest adoption to date for me. Punchy, Iโve never met a dog quite like you. Came from a backyard breeding/hoarding situation. Completely feral, we couldnโt even clean her kennel without sedating her before going in. She attacked me on multiple occasions. Left me with a few stitches.
There was a few times where I didnโt know if she had it in her. After time, patience, bonding, she slowly warmed up to me. Then she had her babies and it was like we had to start training right from scratch.
But she did it! She learned to trust. We desensitized her, worked on triggers, and her fears. She still has a hard time with men, but slow introductions seem to work well. She is the most affectionate girl now, and we couldnโt be more proud of her.
Punchy found a new mama that is well versed in heelers, and understands her history. We have high hopes this adoption will be successful.
I cried many times and Iโm crying again just thinking of how much you have over come. You deserve all the love the world can give you, Punchy. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you my girl. I miss you so much. This was such a hard goodbye for me.
