When your attention getter is a coyote who wasn't chasing the road runner just out catchin' a few gophers. That's for those of us who grew up watching Bugs Bunny! By the way the heifer is VMN Pollyanna 6P.

Thought is was time to start working with the heifer calves. First time away from their mommas ~ not too happy about that. They did stop long enough to get a couple pictures.

Congrats, to Haydyn on winning Reserve Charolais heifer @ Prairieland Jr. Ag Showcase with 'DVY NELLY 18N'. Haydyn has put a lot of time into getting Nelly ready for this day & the work paid off. She had Nelly looking top notch & we are very happy with how she has developed her throughout the spring & summer.

The last of the 'Brat Pack' introducing VMN Pollyanna 6P a daughter of FLC Warlock & out of VMN 4J ( DPS Archer daughter). 6P is starting to catch our eye every time we do a pasture check. We all know calves are always developing & changing it seems like overnight & that is where our calves are at right now. It's nice that we have adequate pasture & it's not been too hot but the wind can leave anytime!

Another one of the 'Brat Pack' ~ DVY Peggy Sue 5P with her dam DVY 4E (SHSH Lonestar daughter) Peggy Sue is sired by KAYR Commissioner 59K. As you can see Peggy Sue has a hair coat to die for. From the big pasture we have DVY Pearl 13P a maternal sister to DVY Nelly 18N (Haydyn's show heifer) sired by FLC Warlock.

Congrats, Haydyn on showing DVY Nelly 18N (Nelly) to Reserve Overall Champion Female @ your Achievement Day. Haydyn has been showing Nelly throughout the spring at several junior shows & has her looking better each time out. We are proud of this junior team & thanks to Haydyn for all her hard work in getting Nelly to where she is today. Good luck @ Jr. Ag. Showcase (Saskatoon) with Nelly.

A couple members of the 'Brat Pack' today out on pasture. They have unofficially been named VMN POPPY 3P (Pic # 1) & VMN PRECIOUS 9P (Pic # 2). Both are daughters of KAYR Commissioner 59K. Poppy is a full sister to VMN Norma Jean 17N who is now owned & shown by Keera. Precious is being raised by VMN Hello Darlin' 29H a very impressive Diamond W Premium daughter. There will be more pictures!

Congratulations Keera, on having Grand Champion @ your 4-H Achievement Day with 'Norma' (VMN Norma Jean 17N). Keera selected 'Norma' from the keeper pen on one of those cold, windy days we had this winter I know that narrows it down. We are super happy for Keera & the success she has had with 'Norma'.

Busy couple of days but the cows are out on grass! The processing worked like a well oiled machine thanks to the experienced (older) crew Rocky, Debbie, Stephanie, Carter, Seth, Audrey & Elliott. Thanks to mom for making ham & macaroni salad for lunch. Hauled them out on Monday thanks to Rocky & Debbie for the help that day. Made it through the day with a few bruises but no major injuries. Now the best time of year ~ pasture checks watching the calves develop over the summer. Here's hoping for timely rains & lots of grass!
