Soper Creek is a wonderful wildlife rescue operating in Durham Region. They run their own fundraising and take in sick, injured and orphaned animals 7 days a week. Sadly, they have recently suffered the theft of many valuable resources. Please read their post and keep your eye out for anyone selling similar reference books.

Thank You Everyone for Your Kind Words, Donations & Support
Although the books have yet to be returned, I can not thank everyone enough for the amount of support that you have shown us.
I have to admit I felt embarrassed and silly posting about having books stolen. People or animals weren't hurt, they were only books. But the importance behind the books are in valuable. They help us care for the thousands of animals that come through our doors, sick, injured or orphaned.
You saw the value in these books, just as we do.
You see the value in the work of wildlife rehabilitation.
You have shown us that its ok to be honest about what your going through. That there will be someone there when you fall.
Thank you.
Every single one of you for being there to catch us when we fall.
Love
Stef and Everyone from Soper Creek (furry, feathered, two legged, three legged and 4)

STOLEN-------THEY WERE ALL STOLEN
Unfortunately this mornings post isn't a positive one. It's one that I never imagined doing. To be honest, I debated all night if I should post this or not. It makes me feel sick to my core, so I have to.
All of our library resources have been stolen. Textbooks, manuals, and references that I have been collecting since I was in high-school have been stolen. Tens of thousands of dollars of educational material have taken from one of our main animal care buildings.
They would serve no purpose to anyone who isn't in the animal field so I'm not sure why they would have been taken other than to sell.
My message to the person that stole these priceless resources that help us to properly care for the thousands of sick, injured and orphaned animals....
If you wanted to borrow these books to learn
-------All you needed to do was ask.
If you needed to money to feed your family
------- We could have helped you, please just ask for help.
By stealing these reference books you have stolen years of savings. You have taken away our ability to continue to learn about and care for the thousands of different species that Ontario has.
I decided to do the post just in case our stolen items pop up on Marketplace, Kijiji or any other selling site. Here are a list of just a few of the books. There are so many, over 125, that I can't remember them all.

If you our followers can keep an eye out on the selling sites and let us know if they pop up that would be greatly appreciated.
Please share this post far and wide. We can't afford to purchase these books again so finding them or having them returned is critical.
Thank you,
Stef
