🩷The only thing scary about this Halloween is the fact that Diva Boots has been with us for exactly 1 year , with no adoption interest !!!! I have posted her a few times , all at varying degrees of her progress. But today , the proof is in the pudding as multiple people have been able to share some sweet moments with our Diva Boots !!!

🏡Please please pleaseeeeeee if you have no other animals or kids home and don't mind a wee bit of catitude , consider giving this long term resident a chance. She will keep you laughing with her zoomies and make you fall in love with her sweet and sassy personality.

✨Please. She deserves this , and all the volunteers want to see it !!!!!!! Diva lost her person and just wants a predictable home and an adoring servant to call her own!!

Maybe fourth times the charm , LETS FIND DIVA BOOTS PERSON ❤️❤️❤️❤️

🏡Another month has come and gone , so gather around for the recap of October !!! We started off with a bang but you know we finished strong , all thanks to the volunteers who keep this ship running.

✨First up , we lost Kevin and Lolly from their permanent foster homes. We are so glad they got to experience the love of a home in their final years !! We sadly said goodbye to our shelter resident Professor Plum , who went into kidney failure two weeks after her arrival. RIP ❤️‍🩹

✨We received all kinds of surrenders , from people moving , to eviction surrenders , and from people who self admittedly just never wanted a cat to begin with. It's always hard to see some cats struggle with the transition to shelter life , but we do our best to provide a sense of family and normalness during a difficult time for these kitties. We may not have an over flow of extra space , but we have a lot of love to give to the weirdos and odd balls who have been left behind.

✨This month we took in 38 cats in need from various difficult situations. On the flippity flop we saw 47 cats leave our care and go on to bigger better things !!! Some long term residents flew the coop , like Chiara, Gene Kelly , Poppy and Picante !!! Every adoption is truly special but some cats hold a special place in our hearts , I was particularly thrilled to see Dwayne Johnson go !!!

✨And of course addressing the numbers side of things , we are happy to report the streak of more outs than ins lives on... And if we can make it to January that will be a two year run ! It may seem like a silly thing , but it is a shining beacon of hope amongst the daily urgent surrender requests that come filing in.

✨Finally , a huge thank you to all of our volunteers. We couldn't do it without the hard work of the medicators , the cat whisperers , the cleaners , the maintenance crew, and the trapping team. It's not easy scooping litter boxes , working with cats who want to eat you , tailing a feral colony for weeks trying to trap an injured cat, and so much more.

✨And thank you to everyone who adopted this month !!!! For every individual who surrendered a cat , someone else stepped up to give another their second chance at furrever.

🐾Finishing the month strong with a long term resident adoption , we're very happy to report our girl Chiara finally went home today ! After 1 whole year in care , 10 of which those months were spent at Katie's Place, this shy lady made some great progress and grew to love volunteers more with each passing day. We are thrilled that she was chosen and say a heartfelt thanks to her adopters for choosing a shy kitty !

Please be advised our waitlist for owner surrenders is currently 26 weeks and we are focussing on accepting seniors and cats with adverse needs (medical, behavioural, etc). Thank you everyone for your understanding, we are doing our best to manage the high volume of requests for surrender.

APPLICATIONS CLOSED - 👀Shorty had them Apple Bottom Jeans , and now you could too !!!! Introducing the one and only ABJ blessing your timeline with his immeasurable cuteness. Now let's all line up single file and calmly for this charmer, he's perfect down to the last whisker and just so happens to be looking for his furrever home.

💙Apple Bottom Jeans does in fact have the boots (paws) with the fur , and will in fact have the whole club looking at him !!! He grew up in a scrap metal yard fending for himself , where he sustained some bad bite marks to his leg and at one point we weren't sure if he'd need to become a tripod. He came to us due to these medical needs but luckily we were able to spare his leg and he is now 100% healthy !!!

🏡ABJ is about 6 months old now and is looking for a loving home with another friendly feline playmate. We will not adopt him out as a solo cat********. He is extremely cuddly and social , he just wants to be stuck on his favourite people like glue !!! When he's not cuddled up with his foster momma he is trying to play with his foster siblings who don't yet pay him much interest. It is clear this fella wants a friend !!

👖He has excellent litterbox habits , and aside from some classic witching hour zoomies he is a very well mannered young gentleman. He would do well with children , and might even do well with dogs due to his confident temperament.

🍎Apple Bottom Jeans is currently in foster , so if you are interested please SUBMIT AN APPLICATION !!! Facebook messaging is not monitored and will not substitute an application. We will arrange a visit with applicants who look like a good match.

READ FULLY BEFORE ENQUIRING ******

✨Some of you may recall Kaslo being posted recently. While she did garner a lot of applications and a lot of attention , we didn't feel anyone truly understood her needs and was more so hoping for a pretty piece of eye candy. We had applicants from the states , from Alberta , from Ontario .... All willing to take her sight unseen because she was pretty. If only we had that kind of response for the black cats !!

🩷What people don't understand is that Kaslo lived her formative years unfixed and alone , lacking socialization. As a result , she is considered to be semi feral and incredibly shy. She does not like to be touched , and spends majority of her time maintaining a safe distance from us with a careful watchful eye of our every move. We're glad she had so much interest , don't get us wrong... And we have seen many cats like her have incredible transformations into loving companions.

🐾All of this to say , we are looking for a specific type of home for Kaslo. EXPERIENCE WITH SHY CATS IS A MUST , A QUIET ADULT ONLY HOME IS A MUST , and someone who understands Rome wasn't built in a day and that good things come to those who wait. Kaslo needs someone to meet her where she's at , someone willing to get down on the floor and coax her out from under the couch, and someone who understands trauma in cats. This is not the right cat for a first time cat owner.

✨Kaslo is 7 years old and in good health. She uses her litterbox and gets along well with other cats. Because of her lack of socialization in her formative years she likely has a long road ahead of her before she's willing to trust , but she still deserves a good home nontheless !!! Kaslo has been with us for a month and a half now, and she no longer lashes out in fear.

🏡Open house is not the best time to meet Kaslo , so if you meet the criteria and are willing to give her time and patience please complete an application and we will arrange an after hours visit. If you are not selected , we have lots of shy cats similar to her who have waited years for their chance.

💜We will not consider out of town applications as a multi hour journey would be very stressful for a kitty like Kaslo.

✨We love an adoption like this , our senior girl with hyperthyroidism had a short stay of only one week before she was scooped up by her new family !!!!! With her health and being up there in age she had all the makings of a struggle to find furrever , but we're so glad this wasn't the case and that she is now shuffled up happily in her forever home. A big thanks to her family for choosing her !!

🐾A special day has come for Minnie Mouse after 4 months at KP !!!! She was originally going to be euthanized due to some litter box troubles , but we saw her make great progress in this area while with us. Now she will be able to enjoy a quiet home away from the busy shelter and have the peaceful retirement she deserves.

✨First home alert!!!!! From colony living to a cushy indoor home with endless treats , things are looking up for our boy Vyeguy and we couldn't be more pleased. After undergoing double entropion surgery upon intake , this charmer was an excellent patient and it's no wonder he stole the heart of his new cat dad. Wishing them many years of happiness together !!!
