Week 6 Pupdate! We had a big week here!
The puppies are growing and learning like crazy, they're also becoming excellent little escape artists, lol. They had a few new adventures this week including, trying cheese for the first time, their first deworming, vaccinations and check up at the vet's office, playing in the sprinkler, playing in the sandbox and checking out the dogaloo. They are super cute and hilarious, we can't get enough of the silly antics of this crew.
Getting out in the backyard more has been so great for the pups as they are really building their confidence and have loved the new sights, smells and sounds of outside.
We waited until today to do the pupdate as we went to the vet's office this morning. Everyone is healthy and happy!
We will also calculate the puppies' expected adult weights over the next few days and let you know how big we expect everyone to be when full grown.
We also did first sanitary haircuts this week, just a little trim around their bums, and everyone took it quite well!
Paperwork was emailed out this week too so if you could sign that in the next week that would be wonderful! We're excited to meet you all in person soon!
Have a great weekend!!

Week 5 Pupdate!
We had a big week between starting puppy selection, first time outside, first baths and soccer games and track and field for the kids. So we apologize for the late post. It has been a really fun week though!
The puppies were so excited about playing outside! This is a great experience for them to take in new sights, smells, tastes, sounds and feelings. They loved trying out dandelions, grass and a couple of them even tried taking a dip in mom's big water bowl. Thankfully, it was a really warm day so they dried off in no time. Later in the week when it was rainy we kept the pups inside and did baths. They are so adorably fluffy afterwards! We only got to take photos of a few right after bath time as we had to run off to soccer, but we'll do better at the individual shots next week.
Puppy teeth are really coming in now so watch out for their little razors when they come home. With that we aren't blending their food as much and by next week it will be just slightly damp so that by the time they come home they are eating it dry. This week we will send out contracts and FOIP forms so watch for those in your email we will also finalize pick up and drop off times and let you know everything that your pup will come home with. If you have any questions don't hesitate to pm us or send me a text. Have a wonderful long weekend!

What is a Guardian Dog or Guardian Home? 🤔🐾 Guardian Families are compassionate adoptive families for dogs in our breeding program. They help us maintain ownership while giving our dogs a loving environment to flourish. Discover more about this unique arrangement here: https://wix.to/sxbhNxV

Essentially, Guardian Families are an adoptive family to the dogs that are a part of our breeding program. We maintain ownership of the dog until he or she graduates from our program and then they are fully adopted by you. Why would I want a guardian dog? • You receive our 1st pick pup of the litt...

Week 7: Final Pupdate for the 12 Days of Christmas Litter

I can’t believe this is our last pupdate for this litter! We will all miss this big team! But we are so excited to meet you all in person! For puppy pick up or drop off day we suggest you bring a leash (we’ll provide a collar) so that you can take your pup for a p**p break on the way home if needed. Also, if you’re picking them up on your own it would be helpful to bring a crate or kennel for the ride home. We’ll also pack some treats and toys for the ride home so that they are less anxious and have something to keep them busy.

Today was finally mild enough that we were able to take the pups outside. The wind picked up soon after we went out so they only played for about 10 minutes but it was so cute to watch them all romp around in the snow. We hope you enjoy the videos of your snow hoppers. Speaking of going out, we get a lot of questions about how long the pups can go out and what temperature they can handle at this age. We suggest you go outside with them every time for the first couple of weeks at least. Just watch for cues that they are too cold, like shivering, whining or if they aren’t playful then bring them in right away. If you ever see your dog limping or holding their paws in the air when they’re out in the snow be sure to pick them up right away and bring them in to check for ice and snow between their toes. But if they are playful and happy while they’re outdoors you know they aren’t too cold.

Another question we get from families around this time is how much do I feed my puppy. If you want to only feed them at certain times of day you can check the recommendations on your bag of dog food as every brand is a little different. But for us, we just fill their dog bowl and leave their food and water out from morning until 5-6pm so that they don’t need to p*e or p**p overnight. (They should be able to go all night in their crate or kennel without a potty break by around the second week at home.) We find that having constant access to food is best as it keeps your dog from being a ravenous eater because they know it’ll be there whenever they feel hungry so there’s no need to scarf it when it’s offered. Also, this allows your pup to eat more when they go through a growth spurt or have a super active day, and less when they don’t need it. We find that most dogs won’t overeat if food is always available and this allows them to develop healthy eating habits.
This week we also got a new tent for the pups to play in. They were a little unsure at first but after a few they were bounding in and out and a couple of them got confident enough to drag the whole thing around lol.
We hope you have a wonderful week and we’re excited to see you soon with your sweet puppies!!

12 Days of Christmas Litter: 6 Weeks Pupdate
Only 2 weeks left until these beautiful pups are in your arms! We can’t believe they are 6 weeks old already and we are not even close to ready to let them go!
This week we moved them out of the whelping room into a larger area and they are loving the extra space. We also got a taller cage around their enclosure, as Dallas figured out how to escape by crawling over the top of the shorter one, lol. We always have a climber or 2 in each litter and she is our first one, lol.
We had a great time chatting with and meeting all of you last week and are excited to share the adorable names that you’ve chosen for your sweet pups!
Today we had a great time playing with the puppies! They are able to stay awake for longer stints now! Today they were awake and playful for 20 minutes which is a new record! It’s just so fun to see their different personalities and this is the age when they all get more active and silly. We’ve noticed that Pink Girl is still pretty shy and would rather snuggle and play for a few and then come back for more snuggles. But everyone else is super playful and hilarious to watch. I love how excited and uncoordinated they are at this age! We’ll take the crew to the vet this Thursday and will let you know how that goes. They’ll have their first vaccination and a deworming treatment. It is always a lot of fun getting them to the vet with a litter this size. We’ll bring 3 kennels so everyone has a comfortable spot and so that it’s easier to keep track of who’s done. In your pup’s paperwork we will send home a full schedule for future vaccinations but do know that it would be a good idea to book their first vet visit now. They can have their 2nd vaccines Feb. 6th or later. We recommend getting their vaccines as close to that date as possible. (The sooner they’re fully vaccinated, the sooner you can take them out and about for walks and socializing without worrying about parvo.)
One last thing, if you haven’t had a chance to send us your paperwork yet please do as that allows us to get their puppy packs ready sooner than later, which we really appreciate with a litter this size.
Have a wonderful week everyone!!

Week 5 Pupdate: 12 Days of Christmas Litter

So the pups are growing and changing like crazy! It never ceases to amaze us how quickly the pups change from week to week. We have noticed a few getting more curly this week so check out the individual notes on that to find out more. They have been snarfing down their puppy food like crazy! A few days ago we blended up their food and poured it in their bowl for lunch. By the time I had washed out the blender and come back to check on them it was already empty! So we made another 2 batches and they weren’t full until halfway through the 3rd batch! Definitely some growth spurts going on. They also have been getting their puppy teeth so watch out for those when they get home as they are razor sharp! With their teeth coming in now we hope that the pups will be eating solid puppy food by the middle of this week or beginning of next.
The puppies have also been learning how to play, not just with each other, but with their toys so
we’ll share some cute videos of that. There are a few of them who are still pretty confused by
toys, but most of them are eager to play and explore.
In regards to potty training these guys are doing well so far. We tried a new technique that
seems to be working well and so far the pups are only occasionally p*eing outside their potty
area. Knock on wood with that as I feel like as soon as I say that someone will p**p where they
shouldn’t but hopefully they’ll keep up the good work.
We have emailed out the Photo Consent Form and contract to everyone, so please let us know
if you haven’t seen it yet. For all of the families meeting us in Calgary we are planning to come
up the evening of Friday, January 24th or morning of Saturday, January 25th as the weekend seems to work best for most families. Please let us know which day works best for your family and we will come on the day that works for the majority.
Sorry for not having all the updated notes on these photos. We have a few more notes but at the moment we are spending some time with family for New Year’s Eve and have or will chat with you about the new notes when we chat this week!
Happy New Year’s Eve everyone, have a wonderful week!

Week 7: Final Pupdate for the White Christmas Litter!

I can’t believe this is our last pupdate for this litter! Our kids have been loving being home for the holidays and having so many sweet pups to snuggle and play with. We will all miss this crew!
The puppies have been loving the mild weather we had last week. They were outside almost every day and have been getting more brave about exploring the whole acre of our backyard. Murphy found an old hole that our kids dug in the yard and decided to help them with the digging and came in covered in dirt and happy as could be. He thought it was a great idea until he needed a bath afterwards, lol.
This morning we had a little bit of the white stuff so decided to take them out for their first experience with snow! They were so adorable and confused by it, they had a great time! But if they are playful and happy while they’re outdoors you know they aren’t too cold. Just for a reference, today it was -4 and we took them out for about 15-20 minutes before they were cold and needed to come back in.
The pups have really increased their appetite this week! We usually can fill their 2 bowls a couple of times a day, but in the last few days they have needed 3-4 bowlfuls. They seem to be going through a growth spurt! Another question we get from families around this time is how much do I feed my puppy. If you want to only feed them at certain times of day you can check the recommendations on your bag of dog food as every brand is a little different. But for us we just fill their dog bowl and leave their food and water out from morning until 5-6pm so that they don’t need to p*e or p**p overnight. We find that most dogs won’t overeat if food is always available and this allows them to develop healthy eating habits.
We hope you have a wonderful New Year’s day and we’re excited to see you soon after with your sweet puppies!!
