🐾🖤 DID YOU KNOW? THE DOBERMAN HAS A PRETTY INTERESTING HISTORY! 🖤🐾
The Doberman was developed in Germany in the late 1800s by a man named Louis Dobermann, who worked as a tax collector.
His job could be dangerous, so he wanted a dog that could protect him while he was out collecting taxes. He began selectively breeding dogs with the traits he was looking for — intelligence, loyalty, courage, athleticism and a strong protective instinct.
Over time, these dogs became what we now know as the Doberman Pinscher. 🐕🦺
The breed was created to be more than just a guard dog. Dobermans were meant to be loyal companions who were highly trainable and devoted to their person, while also being brave enough to step in when needed.
And honestly… they nailed it. 😂❤️
Today, Dobermans are known for being incredibly intelligent, athletic, loyal and protective — but ask any Doberman owner and they’ll probably tell you they’re also giant babies who want to follow you everywhere! 😂
