Somebody needs to adopt this poor old boy…

Hugo, 12 years young
*FEE WAIVED ADOPTION*

Hugo came to our shelter in April and is still waiting for a family to step up for him! This is no way for a senior dog to spend his golden years.. 😔💔

We have decided to waive his adoption fee for the right family! ****Please remember that regular adoption screening still applies****

This sweet boy has been hard to home.. People don't seem to want to adopt senior dogs or black dogs. On top of that, he is very spry for a 12 year old and doesn't act his age, which often deters that people that DO want a senior dog! Hugo is full of life and loves his walks, he also requires a pet-free home. All of these things put together have resulted in a longer stay than we would like for this old man.

Would it be easier to let him go to a home with other pets? Absolutely. Would it be right? Absolutely not. Sometimes, easier is not better. As much as we hate to see Hugo stuck at the shelter, we want to set him up for success and make sure his next home will be his final home. Hugo deserves peace, he deserves comfort, he deserves stability. At this point in his life, he has made it clear he wants to be the ONLY pet. Cats are too fun to chase and dogs get on his nerves! It simply isn't worth the risk of an incident and having him returned, we aren't sure he'd be able to handle that stress..

Hugo has a big voice and he likes to use it! He is happy to nap in his bed after walks but makes sure we know when he wants or needs something. He is a big talker when he is excited! He is very affectionate with people he knows but can be a little aloof with strangers. We promise once you break through that silver exterior, he has a heart of gold

Little Lady has 2 speeds, warp and sleep. She’s been keeping me on my toes, that’s for sure! At 13 weeks, this mastiff/bernese is all legs and is going to be a very big girl.

When your clients take up the whole bed and you’re left wondering if you’ll have to sleep on the couch…grateful to spend some time with these 2 cuties, Max and Lucy.

Unfortunately, I learned a week ago that me and my colleagues were losing our jobs…it has been a very challenging time with so many emotions. I have accepted a new position already (much quicker than I anticipated), but my ability to work remotely is no longer an option. That means that at this time, I am only able to accept weekend clients, or those with animals that are used to their owners working outside of the home, and able to be left alone for longer periods of time. I have loved what I do with this little pet sitting business of mine, and I am so sad to say goodbye to my amazing fur and human clients.

If you’ve been following me for awhile you may recognize these two rascals. Murphy and Fiona may have the sweetest little faces but let me tell you, can they ever hunt mice. It’s been so great to reunite with these little ones 💕🐾

How quickly summer is passing…spending some time watching a small zoo…4 pups and 5 kitties and being a companion to a lovely senior whose family is on vacation. My days are busy to say the least! Teddy and Mayzee are the cutest! These two Pomsky’s were so sweet and fun to care for. We spent some time together recently snuggling and enjoying each other’s company.

As I mentioned in my last post, my availability is limited this summer but I do have a few clients booked and also some openings. If you are looking for someone to stay in home with your pets, please reach to and we can discuss your needs.

This is my buddy Ryder. He’s a giant, goofy boy, that I recently had the privilege of hanging out with. Whenever my time with my new furry friends comes to an end, it’s always with mixed emotions. Sad that our time together is ending but happy that they’re about to be reunited with their humans. Animals are so easy to love, aren’t they?!
