Posting videos of dogs being afraid, biting, being aggressive, shutting down, it's not on purpose, it's not to glorify this behaviour but it is absolutely necessary to show people the reality of some dogs and the length we go to, to fix them, at great personal risk.

More importantly, I think (maybe nievely so) it gives people hope. They look at videos of dogs being dangerous or out of control. They see the transformation, and they think to themselves, "Maybe there is hope for this dog?" "Maybe we don't have to be prisoners in our own home."

Remember, there are a LOT of dog trainers and people out there who will badmouth you. None of it matters. Making the experience as positive and realistic as possible but also providing results is the important part.

Your feelings don't come first. Your dog does.

Elsa here is a fearful Jack Russell Terrier mix, that has a lot of fear but with just enough confidence to bite. So this is her arrival, ready for the board and train program.
1st step is always building a relationship, not requiring anything of her other than to exist peacefully.

🎃 It’s that time of year again!
Our favourite excuse to dress up the dogs and create something hilariously spooky!

Bring your dog to daycare and pack their costume in a labelled plastic bag, backpack, or shopping bag — we’ll handle the rest.

We’ll be taking plenty of photos and videos throughout the day and, as always, turning it all into a fun Halloween video to share with our Doggo Den family.

After a few weeks of building, testing, and trial grooms, our new grooming room at Doggo Den Westmount is officially open!

In true Doggo Den fashion, we don’t do things the “normal” way. Our grooming is built on trust, training, and relationships, the same values that guide everything we do.

Our groomers take time to build relationships with each dog they work with, whether they’re familiar faces from daycare or first-time visitors. That bond matters, because when a dog trusts the person handling them, every experience becomes calmer, safer, and more positive.

And when a pup needs a little extra support, our dog trainers step in to help with desensitization and counter-conditioning from past grooming trauma, turning fear into confidence.

We’ve had the absolute joy of watching Ryan, Victoria, and their dog Bailey grow together, not just as amazing clients, but as long-time Doggo Den park members and friends.

From training sessions to park days to their engagement photos (which we got to capture a few months back!), it’s been incredible to see how far they’ve come as dog owners and as a little family.

This Thursday, we get to take photo's videos and be a part in their next big chapter, their wedding day!

It honestly means more to us than words can say when our clients let us share in their life moments, all through our mutual love of dogs.
