Hi Everyone,

As many of your know, I contracted Covid a few weeks ago and ended up at Royal Inland Covid Unit. I am home now, healing and recovering. Our family is now out of our isolation period and we are excited to carry on with life after this terrible hump in our road.

I wanted to express a heartfelt thank you to all the folks that messaged, texted, sent prayers, that were kind and compassionate to our situation, offered us any help they could . Thank you everyone, from the bottom of our hearts.

So with this said, my poor lungs are going to need to see some recovery time before I add dog hair into the mix. I will re-open (given all things go well) by Saturday, Oct 16th. Some also know that I have taken a job at the Real Estate office in town (for life/work balance for me) so Lakeside Dogs hours have changed a bit. We are still here to serve the community but things will look just a little moving forward for appointments.

Well, we all can agree that the world is in a strange place right now, eh?

Since non-essential services are still allowed to work, I am fully open and absolutely following protocol on the Covid 19 situation. I work alone, am isolating as much as possible and following ALL protocol. My amazing clients can literally pass their dogs to me through the door without having to come in contact with me. I have been following veterinary sites and updates and dogs do not have the ability to carry Covid, except in the case that an infected human gets their saliva on their dogs fur, I then touch the fur and put my hands in my mouth, nose or eyes. 🤔 dog grooming is still safe.

Despite rumours that appeared before Covid 19, Lakeside Dogs is running as normal, no I did not get shut down by the city (I have a 100% valid business licence) and I AM taking new clients. I don’t know where or how these rumours started 🤷‍♀️

I understand I can be hard to get a hold of times, my phone doesn’t work well here for phone calls. The best way to contact me is through text, Facebook or email.

We don’t need a pile of matted, impacted coat dogs running around town because people are afraid of grooming due to Covid 19. We can still make this happen safe and sound, for now. Until things change (hopefully they won’t!) groom your dogs as normal. I’m still here for my amazing clients. 🙏

Lakeside Dogs will be closed from Aug 23rd - Sept 9th. I have 6 working days left so book sooner than later, otherwise we will be back open on Sept 10th.
