Plant to Plate is an initiative which includes the entire process of getting from the plant to the plate. The first stage is to create a sustainable Community Garden and involve the community through individuals, families, students, and community groups. This garden would be the catalyst to supply fresh vegetables for cooking classes, educational workshops, the Food Bank, as well as provide an opp

ortunity to anyone that would like to create their own garden and enjoy the rewards of growing their own food. The partners involved in this project include;
• Queens County Duke of Edinbugh Award.
• Local residents

Have the deer and other animals got into your prized garden vegetables you so carefully nurtured over the past couple of months.

It is frustrating, but all is not lost. There are many plants you can start from seed that will grow quickly andcyou can get a harvest in before the end of the growing season.

For us in Liverpool, we are in zone 5&6 and this is what you can still grow and harvest this season
Kale, cabbage, brocioll, carrots, lettuce, peas, radish, spinach, swiss chard, & turnips are all good options for this time of year and dont forget now is a great time to plant your garlic for next years harvest!!

Happy gardening.
