Home oral care is so important for our dogs and cats but sometimes it’s a little more difficult. Vetradent water additive can be simply added to your pet’s drinking water every time you refill the bowl.
It works to control tartar by altering the environment in the oral cavity to make it harder for plaque and tartar to accumulate.

Unlike people, dogs and cats have limited ways to cool themselves, putting them at risk of heat stroke, a life-threatening emergency. Help keep your pet safe this summer by:

🐾 Never leaving them in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
💧 Providing plenty of fresh water and access to shade or air conditioning.
🚶 Walking dogs during the cooler morning or evening hours.
❤️ Taking extra care with puppies, kittens, senior pets, overweight pets and flat-faced breeds.

Know the warning signs: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle twitching or an anxious, dazed appearance. If you suspect your pet is suffering from heat stroke, seek veterinary care immediately.

If you're unsure whether it's too hot to walk your dog, use the five-second rule: place your hand on the pavement for five seconds. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your pet's paws. Schedule walks for early or late in the day when temperatures are cooler.

With wildfire smoke affecting many parts of Ontario, check the air quality in your area before heading outside to exercise your pet. If the Air Quality Health Index is high or very high, avoid strenuous exercise and choose indoor activities instead. It's also a reminder to have an emergency plan and a pet emergency kit ready, so you're prepared for any situation.
