My week off begins today June 19th – 27th. I repeat, I’m so excited for our surprise visitor, but you’ll have to wait until I’m back to write about it!
We’re also planning a quick trip to the coast to visit family. A week off is not long and I’ve organized my time accordingly. Yes, there are chores I want to get at and I’ll smile doing them. The pool is calling my name, and I have a brand new floatie I plan on falling asleep in the sun! Sunscreen in hand and I don’t care if I burn.

River had an overnight visit from Sir Henry. They enjoyed a cool morning romp together but, as much as she loves him, River’s day plan only included him if he could lend a nose to assist in fence patrol. Henry had other plans of his own and they included catching up on some much-needed rest. Later they were joined by Suzy Q, Cooper and Bailey. As the temperature rose, everyone gave up their plans of romping and hunting. By afternoon it was much nicer to laze in the shade or be indoors in the A/C.
My own plans included getting some chores done before the new couch arrives. Wall painting and carpet shampoo. I welcomed a break and a few giggles from my helpers. When I pulled out the shampooer, only Bailey stayed around to make sure I didn’t miss any spots. Thanks, buddy!
River has one more sleep before it’s home time, then Bailey will be entertained by Miss Lilly and Cooper. That will bring me to my week off beginning June 19th – 27th. I’m so excited for our surprise visitor, but you’ll have to wait until I’m back to write about it!
