🐾Hi everyone … I would like to apologize and give an update on Skipper’s Dog Wash.

When I announced the move, I honestly thought we would only be shut down for about a week. Instead, it’s now been almost a month, and I still don’t have approval to reopen yet.

To say this process has been frustrating would be an understatement.

The first email to ServiceNL was sent on April 25 asking what was required for the move and permits. In my opinion, this should have been a simple process:
• Ask what’s needed
• Fill out applications
• Get approval
• Open the doors

Instead, weeks went by with little to no response despite multiple follow-up emails. The Town of Lewisporte couldn’t even approve the new entrance permit until ServiceNL responded and the proper paperwork was completed.

Eventually, after the Town contacted ServiceNL directly, things finally started moving. The required applications were sent to me, completed immediately, and hand delivered to the Gander office.

Now we wait again.

As of today, May 22, we are still waiting for approval.

I know many of you have been asking when Skipper’s will reopen, and honestly, I wish I had a clear answer. This whole situation has been incredibly stressful and disappointing, especially after telling customers we would only be closed for a short time.

I miss seeing everyone and their dogs, and I truly appreciate the patience and support people have shown during this mess. Please know this delay is completely outside of our control, and we are trying to get reopened as quickly as possible.

Trust me… nobody wants Skipper’s Dog Wash back open more than I do. ❤️🐾

🚨 Important Notice from Skipper’s Dog Wash 🚨

Over the next little while, Skipper’s Dog Wash will be temporarily CLOSED while we move into a new space right next door in the building. 🐾

This move will allow us to improve the setup and continue serving you and your furry friends even better going forward.

At this time, I’m not exactly sure how long the move will take — it could be just a few days, but may take up to 2 weeks depending on how the renovations and equipment setup go. I’m also unsure if I’ll be able to reopen temporarily in the evenings during the process, but I will keep everyone updated as things progress.

I truly appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and continued support during this transition. ❤️

Well good day and Merry Christmas to all!!🎄
Not often do we close, but today I am unable to get to the shop to shovel the door, due to being snow bound at Indian Arm Pond! We will open as soon as I can get the door cleared of snow.
What a storm!! 🌨 And another storm coming!!! 😬🌨❄️☃️

It's going to be a busy day at the Independent Grocery Store today so we are going to have a delayed opening today to give room to the classic and antique vehicles!
We will open after 4pm 😀🐾.

Just to be clear, we don't mean not to dry your dog after a bath! We just kindly ask that you refrain from blowing your dogs winter coat out(without getting a bath).
