Sometimes life just keeps breaking your heart. They say it hurts so much because you have loved so much. Oh and we loved King oh so much. This one broke us. King belonged to one of our own. Amelia said goodbye to her way too young boy King. King just turned 3 beginning of June. Sometimes life is so unfair. King contracted meningitis and Amelia and Zack did everything they could, but he just was not getting better. So they made the hardest decision and let him go. We all thought that we would get to watch King grow up with their new baby. He was such a good older ‘brother’. We are all in shock. We will miss his ball obsession, his sassyness at the gate and his goofy ways. We will even miss him screaming at us to throw his ball. Amelia we are so sorry for your loss.
King we will always love you.

This week has been hard. Please go hug your fur babies today. Make sure you do not take for granted the time you have with them. As this week has shown us, we never know how much time we have with them.

This job is the best for animal lovers, but also the worst. We truly do love your dogs, so when we loose one, we cry when you cry. But this one hits a little different, a little deeper, a little more. Clyde was my Tanga’s BFF. He was too young. And he went too fast. He loved to sniff my hair, he loved to not quite give me kisses. He loved playing with his friends, he loved Tanga and she loved him. Over the years his human Christine has become a dear friend of mine. I will miss his sauntering in first thing in the morning. He was the goodest of boys. Clyde I loved you so much, I loved you like you were my own. And I am so sorry you had to leave us so soon. I wish dogs lived longer. I wish cancer wasn’t so horrible. I wish so many things. Most of all I wish peace to his human mom, you gave him the bestest life. A safe place, a warm bed, and all the love a dog could take.
