Often, we see pets that have gone through extreme, difficult or painful experiences. This month, we would like to honor Pickle with our first ever FPH Bravery Award. 🏆
Pickle is an 10 year old Corgi who is owned by our Assistant Manager. Four years ago during a routine exam, Dr. Lister noticed inflamed lymph nodes. Further testing was done and it was discovered that Pickle had Lymphoma. With the quick action of Pickle's parents, she started treatment at the CARE Centre in Calgary to undergo chemotherapy. She was considered in remission within 6 months of treatment and remained in remission for 4 years. In recent weeks Pickle is no longer in remission. Her parents weighed their options, discussed the future, how would this look 4 years later and decided to do another round of chemotherapy. Pickle goes up to Calgary with her parents every 3 weeks for treatment. It's long days of travel for her and her parents. However, Pickle has been the best trooper and even though she hates car rides, she is still in great spirits, she still continues to bully staff for her daily treats and play with the other clinic dogs.
Pickle's parents are thankful the coverage that Trupanion Pet Insurance has provided. In Pickle's life, Trupanion has paid out for treatment over $13,000. They are also thankful of the support of the team at FPH who are rooting for Pickle everyday.
To our brave girl Pickle, our forever office dog, congratulations on winning the first FPH Bravery Award!
