If you visit Newfoundland this summer, don't forget to visit the Newfoundland Insectarium near Deer Lake. We enjoyed our visit, and the staff are great folks!

Summer Break! Amanda, Martin, and the TarCan kids are on a family holiday for a few weeks this summer. We will still be checking messages while on holiday, but please allow more time for a reply. We do ask, as a favor to us while we are on our family vacation, please wait until after July 12 to send new quote requests and non-urgent questions/messages if at all possible. It will be a lot easier for us to relax and enjoy our vacation if messages are not piling up.

We will not be shipping during this period. Our last day of shipping before the break was June 17. We will resume shipping July 15.

The shop WILL BE OPEN as usual while Amanda and Martin are away, in the capable hands of Marie, Claude, and Émile (our newest staff member).

Today is the last day!!! to get orders in for our Eastern Canada road trip! Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland: Free Drop Offs!
The TarCan family will be making another road trip, and we are offering free drop offs along our route (late June, early July). We are travelling though Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland, from home in Laval, all the way to St. John's, NL. Take a look at the map below. We can make stops anywhere along the route shown on the map, but here is a quick list of cities we will be passing through or near: Trois-Rivières, Québec, Rivière-du-Loup, Edmundston, Fredericton, Saint John (NB), Moncton, Amherst, Truro, Sydney, Stephenville, Corner Brook, Deer Lake, Gander, St. John's (NL). To place an order for drop off, just use the cart function of our website to put in a quote request, and in the comments section let us know that you are interested in meeting up for a drop off. The deadline to get orders in for a drop off is June 18.

REMINDER: We are NOT attending the Toronto Reptile Expo on June 22 (just bad timing, sorry everyone😞). But we will be making a road trip out June 14/15 for deliveries (details in our previous post) as a plan B for anyone who had been planning to pick up stuff from us at the expo.

Summer shipping break!! June 18 to July 14
Amanda, Martin, and the TarCan kids will be taking a family holiday for a few weeks this summer, so we will not be shipping during this period. Our last day of shipping before the break will be June 17. We will resume shipping July 15. We will still be answering emails and sending quotes while on holiday, but please allow for extra time to hear back from us.

Get in on one of our group shipments or road trip drop off offers to receive orders and save on shipping fees before we go on break!

Ontario Road Trip, FREE drop offs! June 14/15
Well, we have good news and bad news. The BAD news is the date for the Toronto Reptile expo has been moved from June 15 to June 22. Unfortunately we cannot attend, as we will be on our trip out east. But since I (Amanda) had already blocked that weekend off to work, (here is the GOOD news) I will instead make a road trip out to deliver orders for the weekend. This will be a FREE delivery option!

Before everyone starts asking, YES, I can deliver T. seladonia spiderlings!

This will be a two day trip (June 14/15), and we will try to hit as many cities as possible. If there is enough interest, we are hoping to head as far west as Windsor, and as far north as Sudbury**. In Ontario, we will be making drops along highways/routes 400, 401, 402, 403, 417, 17 QEW (as far east as St. Catherine’s), and more. For Quebec, will be able to make drops along autoroute 50 and 20 (from Dorval to the Ontario boarder).

To maximize the number of locations at which we can make drops for the day, we will be setting up designated meeting places hear the highway where folks in each city can meet us to grab their orders. Our schedule will be tight, so we will not be able to make drop offs at individual residences.

Anyone interested should submit their order via our website shopping cart as usual , and make a note in the comments section that you would like a drop off. At this time, we are setting the deadline to get orders in for the trip Wednesday June 12. All order must be pre-paid by the morning of Friday June 13, NO EXCEPTIONS! We will not be accepting cash at drop-offs.

Here is a quick list of cities that we hope to include in the trip. We can also hit other cities/towns along our route. If you do not see your town on the list, just message us if you would like to know if a drop is available in your area: Ajax, Barrie, Belleville, Belle River, Brampton, Brantford, Brockville, Burlington, Cambridge, Chatham-Kent, Cornwall, Gatineau, Guelph, Hamilton, Kingston, Kitchener, Lachute, London, Mississauga, Montebello, North Bay, Oakville, Ottawa, Oshawa, Pembroke, Sarnia, St. Catherine’s, Sudbury, Sudbury, Toronto (GTA), Whitby, Windsor, Woodstock.

**We must hit a minimum of sales to be able to make the western and northern extensions to the route.
