If your pup is not a fan on the crate, they need to learn the crate is safe and a lot of fun!

Open crate activities can help build those positive associations and take off some of the pressure around the crate.

Give your dog a bone, stuffed Kong or favourite puzzle toy in the crate (without closing the door!)

I could listen to her chew all day 😂

When our puppy is left on their own with a lot of free space and not much to occupy their time, they will find something to do.

And usually, it’ll be with something that can get them in trouble. (Like chewing on your baseboards and shoes)

Puppies don’t come with the understanding of human expectations. They don’t understand that the stairs are not to be chewed, the carpet is not to be peed on and the table and couch are not meant to practice parkour.

One of the most important aspects of raising a puppy is preventing unwanted behaviours from even starting.

To do that, we need to provide our puppy with activities to keep themselves busy like awesome bones, puzzle feeders and a variety of toys to chew.

This teaches them this is their stuff to play with. To truly set them up for success, keep the space your puppy has access to a “yes” space by puppy proofing. When we puppy proof, we give our puppy less opportunities to get in trouble.

Both are essential for raising the best puppy ever.

Puppies are not born loving this stuff. And some are more sensitive than others when it comes to body handling and grooming.

However, it’s essential that we teach our puppy to relax and enjoy these sessions. Grooming is an important part of your puppy’s wellbeing, especially their nails.

So we want to be sure to start slow and make sure they love it! (Also your groomer will love you for it!)
