🌟 BIG NEWS FOR VANCOUVER PARA DRESSAGE! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to announce that Southlands Riding Club has officially secured a CPEDI 1, 2, 3*** on the FEI calendar at our Southlands Spring Dressage Show, May 7–10, 2026!

This is a monumental step forward for Para Dressage in British Columbia and across Canada. 🇨🇦

đź’ˇ Why This Matters

Hosting a CPEDI here at home means:

More access for Canadian Para athletes

Reduced travel to California or Florida

Lower overall costs for competitors

Increased development opportunities as we move toward the LA Olympics

This is about growing the sport where our athletes live and train.

đź’° The Reality

Hosting a competition of this level requires a budget of $40,000.

The good news?
Equestrian Canada has created a Para Dressage – CPEDI Competition Development Fund, which means:

✔️ Donations receive a tax receipt
✔️ Funds support show organizers hosting CPEDIs
✔️ We build long-term opportunities for Para athletes right here in BC and across Canada

🫶 How You Can Help

Please consider donating to the Para Dressage – CPEDI Competition Fund.

Call to Action

The Good News:
We officially have a CPEDI 1*,2*,3* competition in Vancouver BC at the Southlands Spring Dressage show, May 7-10 2026 on the FEI calendar!

The Challenge:
A competition like this requires a budget of $ 40,000!
Equine Canada has created a Para Dressage - CPEDI Competition Development Fund. This means a tax receipt for any donations made to the fund. The incentive is to be able for show organizers to apply for funds to cover the cost of hosting a CPEDI. Going forward the hope is that approaching the LA Olympics more CPEDI’s can be hosted right here in our Province and across Canada where our Para Athletes live and have easier access without having to travel to California or Florida.
This means large savings!
I appeal to you and ask that you consider donating to the Para Dressage – CPEDI Competition Fund which will give you a charitable donation receipt.

Here is the link for the EC website where donations can be made:

Scroll down to “Your donation”
Choose: 10. Para Dressage – CPEDI Competition Fund
You will see that the link is set up through Canada Helps.

PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD AND FEEL FREE TO SHARE

We’re building something BIG and YOU can help make it happen! We need passionate supporters to commit to giving $500 a year from now through the LA Olympics in 2028. We need to get our athletes – horses and riders – on the road to the world’s biggest stages, starting with the World Champions...

2026 BC High Performance Opportunities with Omar — Two Distinct Programs

With our 2025 programs receiving excellent participation and consistently positive feedback, we are pleased to offer both initiatives again for 2026.

We are excited to share the two pathways available for BC riders working toward higher performance goals in 2026. These programs serve different purposes and have separate application processes, ensuring that riders at various stages of development can access the support that best fits their needs.

Technical Director Program – Open to All CDI & EC Gold Show Riders

The Technical Director Program is open to any BC rider competing in CDI and Equine Canada Gold sanctioned shows and offers structured support throughout the 2026 season.

Participants receive four video-call sessions with Omar to review test videos, analyze score sheets, and receive specific guidance on areas needing focus to improve overall performance.
This program provides riders and their coaches with consistent, high-level feedback and meaningful judging insight to help elevate scores and strengthen competitive readiness throughout the year.

Cost: $1000 CAD
Deadline to apply: December 31, 2025
Application form: https://forms.gle/DXmkL88rLA4tHMuH8

High Performance Clinics – Application Required / Omar Selects Riders

The High Performance Clinics are a separate and more selective initiative designed for BC riders preparing for CDI-level competition. Entry into these clinics is not automatic, and participation in the Technical Director Program does not guarantee a clinic spot. Omar personally reviews all applications and selects riders for each clinic. Each clinic has its own application process, and riders must apply individually for each date.

In the 2025 clinic series, we were able to accommodate riders of all levels throughout the year; however, participation still requires that riders are actively showing in Equine Canada Gold-sanctioned competitions, and priority will be given to those preparing for CDI competitions.

2026 Clinic Dates
January 12–26 (exact dates to be confirmed within this window)
June 12–22
July 6–13
October 2–12

January Clinic - Applications open now.
Cost: $350 CAD per ride
Deadline to apply: December 15, 2025
Application form: https://forms.gle/HVo35GszkSAiatMH7

We encourage you to share this information with your students, clients, and riding community so that all eligible riders can stay informed about the 2026 opportunities.
