It's Social Saturday

Our Dobie Board & Train Cassian (6 months) is going home tomorrow. As a little goodbye, we threw a big playgroup for him with his older sister B&T Vera (11 months), B&T Beyla, and my boys Anarchy and Chip

I absolutely love this post! And I adore this breeder and her dogs! The love and care she puts into her breeding is felt. In every post, every message we exchange about one of the puppies, the way she raises them and exposes them to the world, the way she cares about them after they left

I wish every breeder (and especially, "breeder") would carry just an ounce of the care she shows up with. I am glad that she exists, that she does what she does, and that I get to witness it and be a small part of it along the ride here and there. And if just one other breeder gets inspired by what she does, the world will be a better place

People see the puppies.
They see the photographs, the videos, the chunky little bodies tumbling through the grass, and the proud families taking home their new best friend.
What they don’t see are the months, and often years, that came before those puppies ever existed.
They don’t see the late nights spent studying pedigrees and health testing. The endless conversations with mentors. The plans that change. The breedings that don’t take. The hopes you quietly carry every time you make a decision that could shape generations to come.
For me, breeding has never been about producing puppies.
It’s about preserving something I love.

Every breeding represents a dream. A belief that I can take everything I’ve learned, every success and every mistake, and create something just a little bit better than the generation before. Healthier. More stable. More capable. More true to the breed I fell in love with all those years ago.

There are sleepless nights beside a whelping box. Vet visits that leave you holding your breath. Difficult decisions that nobody prepares you for. Moments where the weight of responsibility feels almost overwhelming because these lives depend entirely on you.

And then the puppies leave.
People often assume that’s the happy ending.
In reality, it’s just the beginning.
A good breeder never really stops being responsible.

Every puppy that leaves my home takes a piece of my heart with it. I celebrate their victories. I laugh at the updates and photographs. I worry when something isn’t right. I grieve alongside their families when the unthinkable happens.
Years can pass, but they never stop being “my puppies.”
The truth is that breeding is not a hobby measured in ribbons, trophies, titles, or social media followers.
It’s measured in trust.

The trust families place in me when they choose one of my puppies. The trust I place in those families to love and care for them. The trust that every decision I make today will benefit the dogs that come tomorrow.
Most breeders don’t do this because it’s easy.
We do it because we can’t imagine not doing it.
Because every now and then, a message arrives from a family telling you that their dog changed their life.
A child gains confidence.
A family finds comfort after loss.
A companion becomes someone’s best friend, adventure partner, or reason to smile at the end of a difficult day.
Those moments remind us why we keep going.

So when you see a well bred dog, remember that behind that dog is someone who worried, planned, learned, sacrificed, celebrated, cried, and hoped.
Someone who loved that puppy long before it ever belonged to you.
And for most of us, that’s the part that matters most. 🇨🇦

✨️ New GROUP CLASS starting this JUNE in Sherwood Park ✨️

💡 Have you thought about attending a group class, but so far you haven't found the right one?

💡 Have you maybe been to a class before, but it just didn't work for you and youe dog?

💡 Maybe your dog even came out of the class worse than they entered?

➡️ For years we have been getting the same feedback from clients, and decided to offer a program that is unlike anything out in the market

➡️ Most group classes focus on providing obedience training in a large group, often executed by an assistant to the trainer, a young and new trainer etc. A concept which can't really provide you with individualized support, or actually taking into account who you and your dog are

💪🏽 Our group class focuses on the things you and your dog actually need, in order to be successful over the lifetime of a dog:

✅️ Understanding the basics of dog training
✅️ How to successfully integrate your dog training into your daily life
✅️ Providing accountability buddies
✅️ A non judgmental space to share the real life struggles that come from being a woman that is trying to do it all: work, household, partner, kids, dogs etc.
✅️ Helping dogs to learn to be neutral, before asking them to do everything while being overwhelmed
✅️ Understanding why some techniques just don't work for certain dogs / owners
✅️ Addressing the emotional aspect of raising dogs
✅️ Learning how to guide a dog, before we try to teach the dog while learning ourselves
✅️ Foundations of Obedience Training
✅️ Foundations of Socialisation and Exposure
..and more

Sounds like the right program for you?
Contact us now to enroll into our next class starting this month!

💣 Special offer for the first 8 participants of the year!

💣 First 5 Sessions
199.0 per person/dog

This is Maggie 🖤 Maggie is a Chiweenie x BC croas - which is a wild mix - plus already half a senior (not at heart or spirit, though), who only started training with us recently

Maggie struggled with leash pulling, reactivity towards almost anything that moved, disengagement from handler, and was also not the biggest fan of Ben when she first met him

Whenever Maggie would spot a bike or a skateboard, she would lose it, bark, lunge, chase, and nip. Which, knowing herding dogs, most know is not unusual behavior

Today, all her training started coming together and we practiced good behavior around men on skateboards. And she couldn't have done better

We are so proud of you, Maggie 🖤
