A Pack Walk is more than just a walk—it’s an opportunity for you & your dog to practice calm, structured movement in a group setting. With guidance & support, your dog learns to exist peacefully around others while building confidence, focus & trust in you. Whether your dog struggles with excitement, reactivity, or simply needs more exposure, Pack Walks create a positive, low-pressure environment to reinforce good leash manners & a balanced state of mind. Structured Daycare Program: Half Day $30, Full Day $45
Structured Daycare at Passionate Paws is more than just playtime—it’s a safe, supportive environment where dogs can build confidence, improve social skills & thrive with clear guidance. Through supervised interactions, enrichment activities & a focus on structure & boundaries, we help dogs feel secure & successful. Whether they need a boost in confidence or a space to practice good manners, we meet each dog where they are & help them grow. Rehabilitation: Some dogs don't require training, some dogs need to be rehabilitated. Separation anxiety, fear, aggression, etc. Education: I love teaching kids & people about dogs. 4H Clubs, schools, etc. I also teach a Dog Safety Class. Please contact me for more info. A reliable recall can be one of the most important skills your dog ever learns. Whether you're hiking, camping, exploring trails, spending time at the lake, or simply wanting more freedom & safety in everyday life, being able to confidently call your dog back matters.

This seminar is designed specifically around building a recall you can count on.

We'll cover:
✔ Proper e-collar fit & placement
✔ Conditioning the e-collar for recall
✔ Timing & communication
✔ Building value in coming when called
✔ Working through distractions
✔ Proofing recall for real world situations
✔ How to determine if e-collar training is the right fit for your dog

One of the biggest misconceptions about e-collars is that they're simply a tool for correcting behaviour. In reality, when introduced properly, they are a communication tool that can help create clarity, consistency & reliability at a distance.

Not sure if an e-collar is right for your dog? No problem. E-collars will be provided during the seminar, giving you the opportunity to learn, ask questions & determine whether it's a good fit before investing in your own equipment.

🐾 HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! 🐾

In honour of Father's Day, we asked the dogs in our pack to write their own cards.

As expected, most of them used the opportunity to justify their behaviour, explain why household rules are optional & remind their dads how lucky they are to live with them & any evidence to the contrary is either fabricated or taken wildly out of context.

The dogs would also like everyone to know that they have never done anything wrong in their entire lives & any evidence to the contrary is either fabricated, heavily exaggerated or lacking important context.

To all the dog dads out there, thank you for loving your chaotic little weirdos exactly as they are. For embracing the quirks, the nonsense, the questionable decision making & the daily adventures that come with sharing your life with a dog.

We hope your day was filled with laughter, wagging tails & at least a few moments where your dog reminded you why they're your best friend.

With the rain showing no signs of letting up, I'm opening up the Passionate Paws training space for anyone looking to get their dog out of the house & burn some energy.

Come use the space to:
✔ Practice your training
✔ Work on confidence building
✔ Play with the agility equipment
✔ Explore the snuffle pool
✔ Work on leash skills, tricks, engagement, or whatever your dog needs
✔ Simply get out of the rain & do something different

One of the perks of my job is that I often get to bring one or two of my own dogs along for the ride.

Yesterday, Brandy was my co-pilot while I was at Bone & Biscuit Red Deer for our monthly Charity Nail Trim Day. She spent the afternoon meeting people, soaking up attention, practicing her skills & just existing in a different environment.

The reward for all her hard work?

A pup cup.

🐾 7 Dogs. 7 Different Stories. 7 Different Journeys 🐾

Yet here they are, sharing the same space, making good choices & learning together.

Many people focus on teaching a dog what to do....Sit. Down. Stay. Heel....Those things matter. But what matters even more is teaching a dog how to think.

Because eventually there won't be a command.

There will be a stranger walking by. A dog across the trail. A loud noise. A stressful situation. A moment of uncertainty.

In those moments, what carries a dog through isn't obedience. It's understanding.

Understanding that they don't need to greet every dog. Understanding that frustration doesn't need to become an outburst. Understanding that uncertainty doesn't need to become fear. Understanding that their handler will provide guidance when they don't have all the answers.

Real training isn't measured by how many commands a dog knows.

It's measured by the quality of the decisions they make when nobody is telling them what to do.

That's where confidence lives. That's where trust lives....& that's where true freedom begins.

🐾 Blackfalds Pack Walk Recap 🐾

Mother Nature definitely wasn't feeling particularly cooperative this week, but the dogs that showed up didn't seem to mind.

While the group may have been small, the quality of work certainly wasn't. We spent the evening practicing calmness around distractions, building confidence, working on leash skills & helping the dogs learn that they don't need to interact with everything they see.

Pack Walks are not about perfect obedience. They're about giving dogs the opportunity to gain experience, make good choices & learn how to navigate the world alongside their people.

A little wind, a little rain & a handful of awesome dogs. We'd call that a successful evening 🐾✌️😁

Looking for a fun way to help your dog build confidence around water this summer?

We're excited to once again be partnering with Prairie Dog Sports Inc. , giving dogs access to a safe, professionally maintained pool designed specifically for canine water activities.

Our Pool Day program is designed to be both educational & fun, giving dogs the opportunity to safely explore water while developing valuable skills along the way.

🐾 Swim Confidence 🐾 Water Games & Enrichment 🐾 Retrieval Training 🐾 Intro to Dock Diving 🐾 Pool Safety Skills

Whether your dog is a seasoned water lover or just starting their aquatic journey, we'll meet them where they're at & help them have a positive, confidence building experience.

🎉 A Belated Happy Birthday to Alanna! 🎉

Yesterday we celebrated one of the amazing people behind the scenes at Passionate Paws 💙

If you've spent any time around us, chances are you've met Alanna, often with Timbit & Jelly close by. What many people may not realize is that her journey in the dog world is still relatively new, but what she may lack in years of experience, she more than makes up for with her willingness to learn, ask questions, & continually grow. She never assumes she has all the answers & is always looking for ways to better understand & help the dogs in her care.

Alanna has become an important part of our team, helping with daycare, supporting training sessions, taking photos & jumping in wherever she's needed. More importantly, she genuinely cares about the dogs & the people behind them.

Watching her confidence, knowledge & skills continue to develop has been incredibly rewarding & we're excited to see where this journey takes her.

Please help us wish Alanna a very happy birthday! 🥳🐾
