From Sheep To Art

How needle felted art is created.

1. Arlette obtains the wool for her art from her own flock
2.Next the raw wool is washed, dyed, and carded
3.Batting is made form the wool
3.She gets her ideas from scenes or photographs of her own ranch
4. Initially she sketches out a rough drawing on paper
5.Dyed wool fibers are laid out to start a background
6.The fibers are wet felted together to make a canvas
7.More wool is needle felted onto the background to create detail and finish the art.

Hello this is Teresa. This year I am participating in Summer Synergy. Every year we do a marketing project. This year for our marketing project each of us had to make or source an item for an online auction in support of Summer Synergy’s Setting Sails program. The theme of the marketing project for this year is livestock byproduct uniqueness. I made two 100% Alberta lamb jerky dog treat baskets one for your canine companion and one for you to donate to a pet rescue of your choice. These baskets consist if 18 bags of delectable, homemade Man's Best Friend lamb jerky and Man's Best Friend lamb jerky trail mix. There are three types of treats, pure 100% Alberta lamb jerky, sweet lamb jerky dog trail mix and savory lamb jerky dog trail mix. These treats are made with farm raised lamb, are dog and veterinarian approved and are healthy and nutritious.

To participate or to learn about Summer Synergy, go to the Summer Synergy website or their page. For more information see the attached poster.

Hi this is Charlotte. I am participating in the Summer Synergy program at the Provincial 4-H Show. This year for my marketing project I had to source/create an item inspired by the diversity of animal by-products. I am lucky to be selling a beautiful piece of needle felted wool art created and sponsored by Arlette Seib. It is made from 100% western Canadian wool and would make a lovely addition to any home. My product and many other fabulous products will be sold in an online auction to support the Setting Sails Program. To find the link to this auction go to Summer Synergy page or website. To see more about my product or get information on the auction please view the attached poster.
