Probably should have posted this a while ago lol but Charly the mule has been home and going to rodeos, roping and cutting practices. That is what time and a solid foundation will do for your mule or horse! He has been with us for 3 months of training spread out over the summer to give him rest periods to think and process.

Ponying the youngsters on the trail is a fun way to expose them to obstacles and to having a person almost on top of them.

What's the best feeling after work? If the horse follows you and still wants to be with you. She spooks in the video but decides to stay with me instead of taking of. By the way this is day 5 with a heard bound horse.

This did not look like this a week ago! But it's part of building confidence and trust. Yes your horse mostly will not encounter tarps and whips, but it will encounter things that move and flap and make noises. If you teach your horse that the right answer is to stand and wait for instructions in those artificial cenarios you have a good chance, that your horse will trust you and wait for YOUR instructions if you encounter cars, birds, bikes etc on the trail.
