Laurie had an emergency, so I squeezed in an extra visit with sweet Dayzei 🐾

She’s one of my weekly regulars and has grown so much—once timid, she’s now calm and confident on walks 💛

At just 8 lbs, I let her lead the way to help her feel safe and in control in this big world 🌎✨

Many of you know I'm a proud Doodle mom 🐾
This weekend, despite all my usual precautions—early walks, early playdate, shaded routes, shorter outings—Phoenix managed to injure her paw. 💔 We’re not sure if it was a cut, sting, or something else.

I brought her to Heritage Veterinary Hospital on Lorraine Ave in Stanley Park. My regular vet wasn’t available, but I was so grateful they had an opening—and even more grateful for Dr. Magan and the kind team at the front desk. 🙏

No judgment. No guilt. Just support.
As a professional pet sitter and dog walker, I hold myself to a high standard—always doing what I can to go above and beyond. So when something like this happens, it’s hard not to ask: What could I have done differently?

But the truth is—sometimes, things just happen. 💛
What matters is how we respond.

Phoenix is on the mend now:
🛁 Epsom salt soaks (with a plastic cup!)
💊 Anti-inflammatories + rest
🍖 A few extra treats, kisses

We’re taking it slow, and she’s already feeling better.

I’ve had a quiet moment to reflect on the past year—on the growth, the challenges, and the many meaningful connections made along the way.

✨ Things aren’t always as picture-perfect as they seem on social media, but I’m truly grateful for everything that has unfolded. Every family, every pet, every moment has helped shape Bark & Stride into something I’m deeply proud of.

This year, I became officially certified through Pet Sitters International—a milestone that reflects my passion for offering professional, heartfelt care. My mission remains the same: to give families peace of mind and pets the love and attention they deserve.

There’s more to come—new ideas and projects are in the works. And even if timelines shift, the drive and hope to grow and reach more families never fades.

Today, and over the past few days, I’ve been celebrating Canada—the freedoms we enjoy, the communities we build, and the spontaneous, neighborly moments that make life rich.

Sometimes, progress is one small step at a time. But each step is forward. I’m so thankful for this community, for my amazing clients, and for the beautiful place we call home. We are truly blessed.

Let’s keep striving for better, together.

🐾 Meet Cupid! 💛
This sweet 11-year-old pup is enjoying daily drop-in visits while his mom is away visiting her homeland.

Cupid has diabetes and cataracts in both eyes—a rare condition in dogs—which makes his care extra-special. But with love, patience, and a gentle routine, he's thriving during our time together. 🐶✨

Each visit includes a walk, cuddles, playtime, and lots of updates sent directly to his mom—because peace of mind matters. 💌

I also received a lovely reference from their trusted animal hospital, and I’m so proud to be recognized as professional, knowledgeable, reliable, and accountable. 💬🐾

Grateful for the trust—and always here to provide loving, individualized care. 💛

🐾 Weekend Tails: Bimbo & Ginger Edition! 🐶✨

It was a busy and beautiful weekend with some adorable four-legged clients!

✨ Meet Bimbo — a handsome Golden Retriever who brought not one, but TWO stuffed toys on his walk to help soothe his excitement 🧸🧸💕 His parents were out of town and he was staying with a neighbor, so I was honored to take him on his very first walk with me! We made plenty of shady stops and had water breaks under the trees 🌳💦— and yes, I carried his beloved toys back for him. 😂

🐕‍🦺 Then there’s Ginger — a sweet pandemic dog who gets two walks a week and had a special drop-in visit this weekend. Her mom requested a bit of social time with another dog, so my Doodle, Phoenix, tagged along 🐾. While Ginger’s main focus was definitely on me (🥰), she tolerated Phoenix like a true polite queen. Baby steps! 💛

These little moments make every visit unique—and every wag,totally worth it.
