When your dog slows down, limps, hesitates, or just seems “different,” it’s hard to know what’s normal aging, what might be arthritis, and what actually helps.

That uncertainty can leave you second guessing everything:
💭 Are they in pain?
💭 Should I push exercise or rest?
💭 Is this just getting older?

One of my favourite things about running the **Navigating Canine Arthritis** webinar is hearing what owners walk away with:

✔️ Finally understanding what arthritis actually is
✔️ Connecting changes in behaviour (even barking!) to pain
✔️ Feeling more confident about next steps
✔️ Understanding *why* certain things help

My goal isn’t to overwhelm you with jargon. It’s to help you feel informed, prepared, and more confident supporting your dog.

Because when you understand what’s going on, it becomes easier to help your dog stay comfortable and keep enjoying life by your side ❤️

Most owners don't actually know what it MEANS when their dog is diagnosed with arthritis. They know it's the joint and they know there is pain, but they don't really understand WHAT is happening or WHY.

But when they DO really understand it there is a HUGE SHIFT:

They stop second-guessing.

They stop jumping from one idea to another.

They stop wondering if they’re making things worse.

Instead, they:

• understand what matters
• know what to look for
• feel confident in their decisions

And that allows them to get back to something simple:

Enjoying time with their dog.

Most dog owners are making decisions about arthritis without a clear picture of what’s going on.

They see symptoms.

They try things.

They hope something helps.

But once you understand:
• how arthritis starts
• what arthritis is inside the joint
• what actually causes pain

Everything starts to make more sense.

And more importantly YOU FEEL IN CONTROL AGAIN.

Knowledge is your best defence against Arthritis. The next NCA webinar is happening soon!

If you’ve ever looked into arthritis care for your dog, you’ve probably seen:

• supplements
• therapies
• exercise programs
• medications

And most of them sound like they could help.

But very few owners feel confident knowing:

What actually works?
What’s worth trying?
What’s not necessary?

So instead of feeling empowered, many people feel overwhelmed.

And when everything feels like an option, it’s hard to choose anything at all.

What’s the most confusing part of arthritis care for your dog?

Most dog owners dealing with arthritis aren’t just thinking about their dog's walking looks.

They’re thinking:

Am I doing enough?
Am I doing the right thing?
Should I be trying something else?

That constant second-guessing can take away from something really important:

Enjoying time with your dog.

Instead of being present, you’re evaluating.

Instead of relaxing, you’re wondering.

And that’s not what summer with your dog is supposed to feel like.

When you understand arthritis, caring for your dog becomes much simpler.

Most dog owners don’t realize how much clarity changes arthritis care.

When you don’t fully understand arthritis, it’s easy to:

• second-guess your decisions
• try things without knowing if they help
• feel unsure what your dog actually needs

But when you do understand it, something shifts.

You start to:

✅️ recognize what matters
✅️ feel more confident in your choices
✅️ make decisions that actually support your dog

That’s exactly what this webinar is designed to help you do.

Most setbacks I see in the summer come from losing consistency.

More activity.

Less structure.

Interrupted routines.

We stop doing the small, daily things that we KNOW work well.

The dogs that do best through the summer?
They’re not doing the most —
they’re doing the right things consistently.

Having consistent check-in appointments during the summer months can help keep you and your dog on track to avoid those summer time set backs.

Pawsitively Fit helps dogs in the Kingston area move comfortably and stay active through in-home physiotherapy — so they can keep doing life with you.

Summer is usually a time when dogs are more active.

But for some dogs, it’s the opposite.

You might notice:
• they don’t want to walk as far
• they choose to lie down sooner
• they hang back instead of joining in

Nothing dramatic.

Just less than before.

So owners adjust.

Shorter walks. More rest. Less activity.

And while that feels like the right thing to do, tt often leaves owners quietly wondering:

“Am I helping my dog… or limiting them?”

The problem with trying random exercises on the internet with your dog? It might not be what they need.

At best, it does nothing.

At worst, it makes things worse.

The best path forward?

An individualized plan created following a thorough assessment.

Here I'm demonstrating the "drama queen" stretch with Maggie.

Is it right for your dog?

I don't know yet!
