After careful evaluation, Silverado Horses has completed spring performance reviews and here are 3 results...

1) Thor
Ability to find trouble: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability to avoid trouble: ⭐
Confidence getting cast up: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Problem-solving skills: Creates most of the problems.

Management Notes: Thor continues to exceed expectations in areas nobody requested.

2) Oakley
Athletic ability: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Work ethic: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Self-preservation instincts: Concerning.

Ability to remain calm: Depends entirely on the day.

Management Notes: Potential for promotion if he stops climbing the fence.

3) Chewy:
Reliability: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Babysitting skills: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Patience with coworkers: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Judging poor life choices: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Management Notes: Requests a raise for dealing with everyone else. Demanded an apple for overdue wages.

The Herd as a Whole:

Hay consumption: Outstanding
Dust creation: Outstanding
Vet bill generation: Outstanding

Following instructions: Improvement needed

Overall Recommendation: No raises. Everyone already receives free housing, unlimited food, and a full medical plan.

Yet morale remains suspiciously low whenever dinner is 3 minutes late.😂

🎉 We are excited to welcome TWO new additions to Silverado Horses!

Meet Pepsi and Nacho, our newest AQHA prospects and the first horses joining our brand-new Silver Saddle Program. 🤠

The Silver Saddle Program is designed to produce quality young horses with a solid foundation and the confidence to continue their training journey with their future owners.

Each horse receives extensive Groundwork and handling, including months of:

• Walk, trot, canter, and backup.
• Body control and responsiveness.
• Trail riding.
• Obstacle exposure and confidence building.
• Grooming, bathing, farrier handling, and trailering experience.

Our goal is to create safe, willing, well-rounded horses that understand their job and have the tools needed to succeed in their next home.

We are excited to watch Pepsi and Nacho begin their journey and look forward to sharing their progress along the way! 🐴❤️

He would also like everyone to ignore the fact that he somehow managed to get himself stuck... again. 🙄

At this point, we're not sure if we're training a horse or supervising a very large toddler.

Poor Toby had to visit the vet yesterday due to an ulcerated eye. He handled everything like an absolute pro! 🦄

Just a reminder that eyes are emergencies!!

Even something as simple as a runny, watery, or squinty eye can quickly turn into something very serious if not treated promptly.

Thankfully this was caught early, and Toby is now on the road to recovery. Prevention and quick treatment matter tremendously with eyes.

Big thank you to Jackpot Vet for always being available when I them!! Dr. Mackenzie is the only Board Certified Surgeon in Tucson, we are grateful to have her so close by. ❤️
