POV: you're a fly on the wall for Andie the (5 month old) Bernese Mountain Dog's first time on the grooming table.

The first time in a grooming salon can be a huge event for any dog, but especially for a puppy who hasn't had the time for many life experiences yet.

It's important that if you are going to get your dog regularly groomed, you start as early as you can to give lots of time for low expectation, introductory grooms, before they require a full groom.

Today Andie got her little nails trimmed, lots of handling, a good brush out, her "grinchies" (paw hair) scissored, and a nice positive introduction to the tools, sights, and sounds that the grooming salon has to offer... and treats... lots of treats.

Her family has done a great job of setting the foundations at home, so the adjustment was fairly quick for this sweet little girl.

I can't wait for our next session!

Sweet Rosie came to visit me today for a fresh new cut! After her spaw treatment, she caught some rays in the window while she waited for her mom to come pick her up. 💖

Dear Pet Parents,

This is a friendly reminder that most of your local groomers are probably booking well in advance!

If you are in the market for a new groomer, or reaching out to your previous groomer, please don't wait until you NEED a groomer NOW!

There is a high likelihood that whoever you contact is booking 4-6 weeks out, or has no availability at all, and the only one who pays the price is your pet. And... well... maybe your wallet.

Mats in the coat will continue to grow and tighten if left unmanaged and pull on the skin. This can be very painful, cause skin irritation, and require a close shave to remove. This results in a longer, more labour intensive groom, and unnecessary stress on all parties involved.

So don't wait. If you haven't already, reach out to your groomer and book your summer cuts now. It's literally never too early!

Your dog, and your groomer, will appreciate you for it.

Snuck in an extra day of grooming this week, and was joined by these two dapper fellas.

I am so lucky to do what I do, every day is a new experience, and I am constantly learning. I'm beyond grateful to have the help and support of some wonderful, talented, and creative women with years of grooming experience. I wouldn't be where I am now without them!

Thanks to your overwhelming support, I am fully booked until the first week of June!

I go on vacation the last week of May, but until then almost all of my free days are filled with perfect pups like little Cooper here; who joined me in the new salon today for some tub time and a new 'do!

I cannot express how grateful I am to everyone who has supported me on my journey thus far. Whether you have entrusted your furry family members into my care, or simply liked or shared my Facebook posts, I appreciate you!
