Jesse is making great time!

Good morning to all!

Oh it is exciting to see Jesse move toward White Mountain. He will be arriving there in under an hour! What a way to build toward the end! I’m so impressed with Jesse’s smart racing. Those long ass breaks that had me in knots are now paying off.

He’s had the fastest run time from Koyuk to Elim. And the thirds fastest from Unalakleet to Shaktoolik, and Galena to Nulato. 🤩

Looks like he managed to get ahead of Sam. He chased him out of the checkpoint and passed him quite early on. Trail from Elim to White Mountain has some big hills and I know Jesse was mentally prepping himself for a hard run. Happy to report that he is coming into the checkpoint with a small but mildly comfortable distance between him and Sam, and keeping a nice healthy pace!

Let’s hope to see some White Mountain footage. There Jesse will rest 8h and then begin the long 77mi to Nome!
