It’s that time of year when the temperatures are HOT! Dogs don’t sweat like we do, they regulate their body temperature differently, which puts them at greater risk in the heat.

Watch for signs of heatstroke, including:

- Excessive panting
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Collapse or unresponsiveness
- Seizures

If you suspect heatstroke:

- Move your dog to a cool, shaded area right away.
- Contact your Vet.

Donation Options:
$10 – Photo taken on your phone.
$15 – Photo + a printed mini photo.

Calling All Kenora Animal Heroes! 
Did you know your pet can help save lives by donating blood?
At Kenora Veterinary Clinic (KVC), we’re building a list of eligible animal blood donors, heroic pets we can call on in emergency situations to donate blood and give another animal a second chance.
To qualify, your pet must:
✔ Have a calm, friendly temperament
✔ Weigh at least 25 kg
✔ Be 1 to 8 years old
✔ Be up to date on vaccinations
✔ Be on heartworm prevention
If your pet meets these criteria, we’ll perform a blood typing test to keep on file.
