In the theme of awards week as the nchta banquet is this weekend, Adda'Go has a handful of team members who have earned special mention this past season.
First, we would like to honour our Cass Jones with the title of our 2018 Horsemanship award.
Cass and her darling "Bear With Me" brought home top placings all season and really committed to the homework in schooling and an unfortunate amount of first aid care that we learned at the end of the season was being caused by cancer. This realization led to us having to make the horribly painful decision to lay Bear, at just ten years old to rest.
Cass stayed a true teammate to her partner until the bitter end. So proud of you my friend.
Subsequently, without a doubt, 2018 Horse of the Year goes to our Big Bear for fighting through his weakness and pain to always perform his best for his girls.
Godspeed young lad.
Equally as exciting is to award our Faye Laforce the title of our 2018 Sportsman of the year. This kid is either winning or falling off trying. Always packing her own gear, prepping her pony, being organized and on time and putting the schooling in between lessons. Faye always cheers her team on regardless of her results and takes top care of her mount. Her determination is inspiring.
The well earned Show Parent of the year title for 2018 goes to Karen Sayer Pelton for having to put up with me all season. Always having me and Willow in the right gear at the right time, cleaning and packing and making sure her (and I) were fed and watered 🤣
The teens can be tough to parent. I am sure I am significantly worse.
Our Rising Star to look out for in coming seasons is my not so little anymore little, Tamika Hamilton. Bringing home top placings all season and showing a great skill for finding her competitive edge being calm, cool, confident and BRAVE. Now voicing goals of YR's, we will surely do everything we can do get her there.
Finally, our Clydesdale Title for 2018 goes to the most important asset on our team, our lead groom, our scheduler extradinaire, our accountant and my best friend, Clare Cloete. Adda'Go is what it is because of her shared commitment to produce better people through the horse sport.
The winter apocalypse has me itching to get back onto showgrounds for an exciting 2019 season.
Thank you all for your committment to yourselves, your horses, the sport and our team.
Adda'Go!
