We love when our long-time students add a new teammate to the family 💛🐾

So excited to introduce baby Lark, who joined us in class alongside her big brother this week!

There’s something really special about watching experienced handlers start fresh with a new puppy — bringing all that knowledge, timing, and patience into the early stages.

Of course, we couldn’t resist finishing the night with a few recalls and some fun games just for her… because puppies deserve a little extra spotlight.

Welcome to the crew, Lark — we can’t wait to watch your journey unfold! ✨🐕

🌟 Agility Fun Match 🌟
📍 Spencerville Area
⏰ Group A – 8:00 a.m. | Group B – 11:00 a.m.

We’re shaking off winter and bursting into the ring — spring style! 🌼✨

www.kcpetz.com/events

Our Spring-themed Fun Match is all about fresh starts, bright colours, and celebrating the season ahead. Think florals, pastel bandanas, flower crowns, butterfly wings, bright collars… the more cheerful, the better! 🌸🌿

Let’s welcome longer days, muddy paws, and happy running with a ring full of colour and energy. 🌞🐾

Every dog gets:
🐾 Two runs
🐾 3 minutes per run (6 minutes total ring time)
🐾 Food + toys welcome in the ring

And because no spring celebration is complete without a little extra fun, we’ll have special awards to keep things light and festive. 🌷🏅

This day isn’t about scores or pressure — it’s about celebrating our dogs, training in a way that supports them, and enjoying time together as a community.

Spots are limited so every team gets their time to shine — don’t wait to grab yours! 🌟

💘 Valentine’s Day at KC Petz 💘

Who needs roses when you have nose boops?

Who needs chocolate when you have pocket treats?

Who needs a romantic dinner when your date screams at you for being 0.3 seconds late on a blind cross?

These are our Valentines.
They shed. They drool. They bark.

And we still kiss them like they just won Nationals.

To the dogs who steal our hearts, our couches, and sometimes our start lines — we love you more than clean runs. (And that’s saying something.)

Hit is with a ❤️ below and show us your valentine.

Six weeks of course design wrapped up ✔️

I just completed another round working with three international judges and course designers. Each week brought new design challenges, detailed feedback, and the chance to rework and improve. It wasn’t just about creating courses — it was about refining the “why” behind every line and decision.

As an instructor, that kind of learning makes me better for my students.

As a competitor, it sharpens how I read and move through courses.

Always learning. Always improving. Grateful for the push 💙🐾

Check out those big layers and that speed from Casey and Sandra 👏🔥

This is a skill they’ve both been working hard on — commitment at a distance, trust in the line, and Sandra staying strong on her handling while Casey drives forward. And this week? It showed.

The send was confident, the motion was smooth, and Casey kept the gas pedal down without losing connection. That balance doesn’t just appear — it’s built through consistent, thoughtful training.
Love seeing the payoff from the work they’re putting in.

Maddy and Olive were on fire at Training Camp this week 🔥

Can we talk about that weave entrance and exit?! Clean, committed, and zero hesitation. Olive hit the entry with confidence and powered through to a strong, purposeful exit — exactly what we’ve been working toward.

It’s one thing to practice weaves in isolation. It’s another to nail them in sequence, under motion, with pressure building. That’s where real progress shows — and this team delivered.
So fun watching the pieces come together. 👏

Melanie and Lucy brought it to Agility Training Camp this week. 🙌

Fast feet, smart lines, and handling that looked calm and intentional from start to finish. Lucy was locked in, and Melanie gave her exactly the information she needed — the kind of teamwork that makes sequences look easy (even when they aren’t).

March and April Training Camp dates will be opening soon — if you’ve been waiting for a spot, keep an eye on the website. www.kcpetz.com/events

Wednesday nights = strength training disguised as agility class 💪🐾

Huge shout-out to our FIRST class crew every Wednesday evening — the real MVPs behind the scenes. Before a single dog takes a jump, these legends are hauling wings, dragging tunnels, moving contacts, and turning a pile of equipment into a masterpiece of a course.

You lift.
You build.
You tweak distances.
You ask, “front side or back?”
You pretend not to notice when I change the line after you’ve already set it. 😅

And you do it week after week without complaint.

KC Petz runs on teamwork, and this class embodies that spirit. Because of you, everything flows smoother, everyone gets more training time, and the whole night has better energy.

So here’s to strong arms, good laughs, and a crew that shows up early. I see you. I appreciate you. And yes… next week we’re building something “simple.” (Probably.)
