🦜 Meet Calypso 💚❤️

Everyone say hello to Calypso!

Calypso is a handsome little lovebird who came into our care recently. He has been living as a free-range bird in a bathroom, so he’s used to lots of freedom but hasn’t had much structure or training.

As with many birds entering rescue, he’ll need some time, patience, and guidance while we work on routine, handling, boundaries, and building confidence. Every bird has their own story and starting point, and we’re excited to help Calypso learn and grow 💚

Surrendering a bird is never an easy decision, and we appreciate owners who reach out when they need support to help ensure their bird has the best possible future.

Update on 2 of the babies 🦜💚

They’re absolutely thriving in their new home and settling in so beautifully! Between sunbathing by the window and spending time with their new family, they already look so happy and confident. ☀️

We’re beyond grateful they found such an amazing home where they’ll be so loved and spoiled. Seeing them flourish like this is exactly why we do what we do. ❤️

Nothing better than watching rescue birds get the happy ending they deserve.

🪶 Supply Donations Needed 🪶

As intake opens back up at Second Chance Wings Rescue, we’re running low on some everyday essentials for the birds in our care.

We’re currently looking for donations of:
• Bird toys (new or gently used in safe condition)
• Pellets and bird food
• Stainless steel or safe food/water bowls

These supplies make a huge difference for rescue birds while they wait for their forever homes. Even one small donation helps us care for more birds in need. 💚

✨ INTAKES ARE OPEN AGAIN ✨

After taking some time to focus on the birds currently in our care, and finding them homes, Second Chance Wings Rescue is now reopening intakes on a limited basis.

If you need help rehoming a companion bird, please reach out. We know surrendering is never an easy decision, and our goal is always to help birds safely transition into loving, educated homes.

Please note:
• Intakes are dependent on available space and foster availability
• We may not be able to take every bird immediately
• Priority may be given to urgent situations

Today we said goodbye to the 2 biggest babies!

In my emotional state I forgot to get a photo of them with their new family so I apologize for that

Doing what we do isn’t easy but it’s very rewarding
The smallest one is going to it’s new home tomorrow afternoon ❤️

We sure are going to miss them but we’re super excited to get updates and see them thriving 💕
