The Dog Daycare Attendant at Roving K9 Kare is responsible for supervising safe, structured play between dogs while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming daycare environment.
This role requires someone who is energetic, observant, reliable, and passionate about dogs. Attendants must be comfortable managing multiple dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities while maintaining safety, structure, and positive interactions.
Employees will assist with playgroup supervision, cleaning and sanitizing, client communication, grooming coordination, and daily operational tasks. This position suits individuals interested in animal care, dog training, veterinary careers, or the pet industry.
Core Responsibilities
Dog Supervision
Monitor playgroups of up to 10 dogs per staff member
Manage safe interactions between dogs of various breeds, sizes, and energy levels
Intervene appropriately when dogs require redirection
Recognize body language and early signs of stress or conflict
Es**rt dogs to outdoor elimination yard throughout the day
Daily Care
Feeding dogs when required
Monitoring health, behaviour, and comfort
Maintaining structured routines for play, rest, and lunch periods
Facility Cleaning & Sanitation
Follow cleaning and disinfecting procedures
Maintain play areas, kennels, floors, and equipment
Laundry and waste management
End-of-day cleaning and closing duties
Client Service
Greeting daycare and grooming clients
Assisting with dog intake and pick-up procedures
Answering phones and scheduling grooming appointments
Processing payments and handling retail purchases
Operational Support
Receiving shipments and stocking retail products
Reporting facility or equipment issues
Supporting trainers and groomers when needed
Work Environment
This is a high-energy, physically active role.

Schedule
Monday to Friday (no weekends)
Shifts anytime between 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Schedule flexibility depending on staffing needs
Minimum two staff scheduled per shift during peak times
Qualifications
Required
Prior experience working with dogs
Comfort with dogs of all breeds and sizes
Reliable transportation and punctuality
Strong observation and multitasking skills
Ability to work independently after training
Strong Assets
Experience in:
Prior experience working with dogs
Dog training
Veterinary clinics
Animal shelters/rescues
Dog grooming
Dog daycare
Dog sports or handling
Certifications that are a bonus:
Canine First Aid
Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to:
Stand and walk for 6–8 hours
Lift 40 lbs or more
Work in loud environments
Handle energetic dogs safely
