Miss Nevaya Slater and Trooper getting 3rd in the 1D at a pretty tough little race with 100 girls ! Trooper and Sophie also won the P*e Wee! It was an eventful race with some ups and downs but we are happy to be back at it ! 💕

We have spent these first few weeks focusing on some very important body control and training exercises! This week we did a challenge with all of our students based on their timing and feel in those exercises. Here are your winners!!! Each winner will have their choice of competing in a barrel racing event outside the ranch OR a private lesson to fine tune any skill or event.

I can’t wait to get back in that holding pen with these athletes 👏👏 This season I won’t be aloud to wear yoga pants and runners but I also won’t be running to throw up between runs. Might have a baby strapped to me though! 😂

If it was up to them we would only lope and do barrels… but I’ve learned that it’s the beginning steps of horsemanship that makes the handiest cowgirl in the end 💕

I want them to not only be able to go make a run but can also train and maintain their horse to keep them safe.

Confidence is slow to grow and quick to loose.

If you have lost your confidence on a horse it’s likely that something happened that was out of your control and had a negative outcome. It could have even had a positive outcome you just felt the lack of control and that in itself can be scary.

Learning to overcome that has no time limit. You have to learn to be ok with the fact it might happen again, these are animals with their own brain and personalities…. But we teach you how to recognize when these things mights happen, what you can do to prevent them from happening and what you do in the moment if they do happen.

Over time riders will be right back where they were and even more confident than before because they feel in control of the situation and have the ability to read horses.

I am forever grateful for the Training Thru Trust- The Doug Mills Method my dad created for us to make it so simple. It makes the happiest horse and rider combo I think possible.

This method has also created the most magical string of horses that once upon a time lost their confidence too. As they have healed and become solid they have become the rock for so many riders to heal and become solid. 💙

Let the fun begin!! Time to start announcing this seasons Sponsored Riders!!! These riders have been selected to participate in this seasons Rodeo Academy for FREE!!
