The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join us. We have openings for Full-Time or Part-Time position. Enjoy your weekends off and make the most of the mountain lifestyle!

Schedule & Hours
Options: Full-time or part-time scheduling available.
Weekends: No weekend shifts required.
On-Call: Shared, rotational on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Care: Provide exceptional nursing care to hospitalized patients.
Anesthesia & Surgery: Monitor anesthesia and assist in surgical procedures.
Diagnostics: Perform digital radiography, dental X-rays, and in-house lab work.
Client Education: Support pet parents with clear, compassionate communication.
Teamwork: Collaborate closely with veterinarians and support staff.

Qualifications
Certification: Graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technology program.
Registration: Eligible for registration with the ABVMA.
Skills: Strong technical skills and attention to detail.

Giving us ample time to refill meds is a love language around here 🫶🏼

With the busy summer months upon us, we ask that our clients try their hardest to give us as much notice for medication refills as possible.

Ways to request a refill: call us anytime- day or night. If we’re closed, leave a voicemail and we’ll get on it the next day.

Email us: you can email us anytime from anywhere! Our email is monitored constantly during business hours.

Text us: you can text our regular clinic number, it’s as simple as that!

2 years ago, we worked our last shift at the original Jasper Vet Clinic.

Today- 730 days later, we saw the first signs of rebuild on our lot.

Watching this machine fill in the hole in the ground really does bring about a whole new kind of hope and excitement.

A lot of people think working in a vet clinic is puppies and kittens and fun. While that is certainly part of the job, it is only a small piece.

Some days go as expected. We see our appointments as they’re scheduled. No emergencies call in. We all get our scheduled breaks and leave on time.

Other days- like we’re experiencing today- go from 0-100 before we’re even technically open. An emergency shows up and requires all hands on deck. We discover we’re doing emergency life saving surgery on top of a whole day of other surgeries and appointments booked. No one has had their coffee. No one is getting breaks. Appointments will run behind. We’ll most likely close the clinic late.

And that unexpectedness is all part of the job. A big part. During the summer months when tourists are here in droves we stay on high alert, aware that something could call or walk in at any moment. In the quieter months, this thought is still there but maybe not at the forefront. To add another layer of complexity, we’re working in a small temporary facility where we often feel like sardines squished together.

We share this not to complain but to educate on the realities of vet med, especially in a rural area like Jasper and with our current situation after losing our clinic 2 years ago. We share this to remind folks that we are a general practice that serves as an emergency clinic when required, which means that sometimes things run behind so we can save a life.

To everyone who had appointments this morning and waited patiently to be seen- thank you. Your grace and kindness goes further than you know. We are a small team in a small space doing big things and doing our best.

Every day in vet med is an adventure. Today was a big one.

We all know ticks are out there and I think we can all agree that we wish they weren't. However, having proper information regarding ticks is helpful for everyone.

etick.ca is a great resource for ticks- you can submit pictures of ticks you've found, learn how to recognize ticks and how to properly and safely remove them, among other things. Below are pictures that one of our staff submitted and the email they received back.

KITTENS FOR ADOPTION!!

Cranberry was rescued by Robson Valley Spay & Neuter Society (RVSNS) and named after the area she was found in Valemount. After her intake, she kept getting bigger and bigger until she gave birth to 5 healthy male kittens. The kittens and Momma Cranberry are now looking for forever homes 🥰

Cranberry and her kittens received full health checks today by Dr Sara and the team and given clean bills of health! They were dewormed and received their first vaccines. They are 9 weeks old and born on May 3 2026. Cranberry herself is just a young cat, estimated to be about 1 year old.
