Your next walk with your dog will be so much more fun (and exciting) when you follow these tips. Trust us -- you and your dog will love them! It'll make your walks together even better.
Hi Chyrlynn,
This Friday is National Walking the Dog Day, and we're so excited!
To celebrate, we found 5 great ways to spice up your next walk with your dog. :)
1. Take a new route.
It's easy to get stuck in a rut on your walks. You go down the same streets, and your pooch stops at the same places to sniff and go to the bathroom...why not mix it up? Find a new route, especially one that'll take you out into nature. Your pup will love the unfamiliar sights and smells. And you'll have a fun new experience as well!

2. Change the pace.
Try slowing down and giving your dog all the time they want to sniff, interact with other dogs, and explore their surroundings. Or, walk fast to give you and your dog more of a workout. And if you're a jogger, why not bring your pooch with you? (Our Hands-Free Adjustable Leash will help!)

3. Practice new tricks.
Walking your dog is a great time to teach your dog a new skill or trick, or brush up an old one. Practice sitting or staying, or work on their fetch game. You can even reward them with a treat when they stay calm around other dogs. (Our Dog Treat Pouch is a great way to carry treats...and it'll hold your phone, keys, and extra doggie bags too!)

4. Bring a friend.
It's so much fun to meet a dog-owning friend for a walk. You'll get to chat and catch up with your pal, and your dogs will get to socialize with each other! If your friend isn't free, you can offer to take their dog on a walk with yours. Or check to see if there's a shelter in your area that'll let you "borrow" a dog to accompany you and your pooch on a walk. This is a great opportunity to do a good deed for a shelter dog craving some time outside.

5. Document your walks.
Walks can be a joyful time for dogs. Why not capture your dog in these carefree moments? Snap some photos of them on your phone, or take a "dog and me" selfie in front of a cool landmark or beautiful view. It's so easy to snap a quick photo...and it's a memento of your pooch that you might love to have five or ten years from now! (For an extra-special memento, display it in our one-of-a-kind Paw Imprint and Photo Frame.)
