Bug aka “Just Gone Hunting” is a 16 year old register Quarter horse gelding.
Bug has been with us since September 4th 2025. We bought him from a lady as he had too big of a personality at the time, and needed some proper redirection. Bug has been recently ridden by students ages 6+.
He still can have some stubborn tendencies. He is typically in group lessons, and rides fine by himself in the arena, but does not enjoy being in the barn by himself as he can be herdy.
He has been in walk/trot/lope lessons, is good for the vet,farrier, and massage. Bug has been on our trails in a group, but I don’t believe he has been out much on his own, and I suspect he would do better with a buddy.
Since being worked with in the last few months, bug has not presented us with any bucking, bolting, or rearing.
He is ok being in inconstant work, but does best when ridden weekly. Is fine to be handled and ridden by younger children, as long as there is an older student or adult to remind him not to be pushy at least once a week:)
Bug does have a bone chip in his front left (we can provide x-rays) that we have been made aware he will need shoes with a wedge to keep him comfortable. He is sound on previcox, but we are getting shoes out on him next week to give him the proper angle he needs.
Is continuing to get massages as he has been stiff in certin areas due to previous compensation.
He knows how to do lateral flection, turn on the fore hand and turn on the haunches, inside bend, straight body etc.
We are selling bug as we recently have bought another horse that has the potential to be faster which is what we are looking for in long term horses for our barrel program!

A great home is most important for this lovely boy.

Camp will be held at its usual location, 662904 Road 66 Thamesford ON

-9:00am-3:00pm
-beginner to intermediate
-western riding & barrel racing intro
-horsemanship and horse care
-Snacks and drinks provided
-bring own lunch
-1-2 rides a day
-Educational Games and activities
$95/per day
