Belle is a 3 year old unregistered quarter horse filly, kindly donated to the local 4H club by Vic Abel. We have had the pleasure of starting Vic's horses for the last 4 years and they have all been good minded with plenty of athleticism. Belle is no exception, this filly is an absolute joy to be around and is coming together nicely under saddle. She has a solid walk, trot and lope and a good stop. She moves off leg and has been on plenty of trailrides. She is however still quite green and so further training is strongly recommended especially for riders that do not have experience with young horses.

Feeling pretty lucky to be a horse trainer right now. We get the most beautiful office this time of the year. 😍

Hope everybody is staying cool in this heatwave. Early morning and late night rides, afternoon siesta's and "the water trail" have been our go to's this week.
Here is Ochre going for her first swim. Though it was refreshing, I'm not sure if she enjoyed quite as much as Devon did watching and videoing us.

We packed up the ponies and headed for the hills last weekend. As they say: the mountains were calling and we had to go!
So glad we did, we ran into our friend Donald from Three Peaks outfitters who guided us to some of the amazing sights Cadomin has to offer.
He is offering trailrides for all levels of experience, all summer long, so if you're looking for a beautiful family experience be sure to give him a call!

This big gentle giant called Rip went home after spending 30 days with us. We were told he got his name because he is tall, dark and handsome (yellowstone reference for those who don't know). But we secretly think almost ripping your pants everytime you try to get on might have something to do with it 🤔

Not too often we remember to take an intake and going home picture, but it pays off when we do! This c**t owned by Vic Abel spend 2 months in training with us last fall and we just can't get over the beautiful bum he build! 😍

With the new year well on its way, we have started booking in horses for this spring/summer. Our services consist out of, but are not limited to, c**t starting, conditioning and tune up's. Please don't hesitate to send us a message if you have any questions or would like to book in a horse 😊.
For everybody that has messaged us regarding riding lessons, we will plan lessons and contact you closer to the spring (lessons are outdoor and so weather depended).

What started as “well you know where the barn is, come and use it” has grown into a business partnership and created the ranch Sandstone is today.
Orin has called Hondo home for most of his life, growing up here he rode horses from a young age. Him and his brothers would ride any kind of horse, anywhere. There is not a trail he won’t try, always challenging the horses to do a little more and go a little further.
Freya grew up in the Netherlands, taking dressage and jumping lessons from the age of 6. Though now converted to western, the arena is still where she is most often found. Creating soft, balanced and responsive horses.
Their combined skill set is what we call the “Sandstone touch”. Creating an all-round, versatile horse that is ready to go any direction.
But the touch is not limited to equines only. Like with any team, it works best if all members are on the same page. Therefore, we encourage owners to come train with us when their horses are here. That way we can make sure both partners understand each other and come out stronger together.
