We’re working to safely extract as many dogs as possible from the Northern Alberta cull and every available foster home makes a difference.

If you’re comfortable with quarantine fostering, we’d especially love to hear from you!

Quarantine fosters help us save more lives by:
- Providing a safe temporary space for the dog
- Administering deworming medication (provided by the rescue)
- Taking the dog to their initial veterinary appointment for vaccines and a wellness check
- Monitoring the dog’s health during the quarantine period

Please note: Quarantine dogs must be kept completely separate from resident pets and any other animals during the quarantine period.

If you can help, even for a short time, please contact our team. Every foster home opens a space to save another dog! Together, we can save as many lives as possible. 🙏🐾

🍁 Maple Pupdate 🍁

• Age: 5 years old
• Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog / Border Collie (approx. 35lbs)
• S*x: Female

✅ Fantastic off-leash skills, house manners, crate trained
✅ Respectful around other animals and livestock
✅ Vaccinated, health-checked, dewormed, microchipped, spayed

Maple has been in our care for a few months now, and we’d really love to see her find the forever family she’s been waiting for. 🤍

Maple is sweet and spicy and everything you’d expect from a quirky herding breed mix. 🧠 She’s incredibly intelligent and knows a long list of tricks including high five, roll over, touch, and the basics like sit, lie down, and wait. Maple has fantastic off-leash skills, great house manners, and enjoys her crate as a safe space!

She is neutral around other animals and very respectful of livestock. 🐓🐴 Maple has appropriate social skills with other dogs, but as a mature five-year-old, she much prefers calm, respectful friends. She isn’t interested in dealing with pushy dogs and will quickly let them know when they’ve crossed a boundary.

Maple enjoys human companionship, though she takes time to build trust when it comes to touch. Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys light petting and being near her people, but she’s not looking to be fussed over constantly. For this reason, Maple would do best with respectful older children who understand her boundaries.

Maple’s ideal family would be calm, patient, and structured, with a moderate activity level and an understanding of sensitive dogs. Experience with herding breeds would be a huge asset.

We think she’d thrive as a farm or acreage sidekick, helping with chores, soaking up positive affirmations and curling up on a comfy couch at the end of the day. 🥰

Maple has been waiting patiently for her forever family, and we know they’re out there somewhere. 🤍 We can’t wait for the day she gets to leave rescue life behind and settle into a home where she can relax, feel secure, and know she’s exactly where she belongs!
