🐾🚨DOG CULLS IN CANADA🚨🐾

While the cull of hundreds of Ostriches on a farm in British Columbia is a hot topic at the moment (one that I don't want to debate, as I want to focus on the dogs).....do Canadians know that we also cull dogs? There has been so much outrage over these deaths, yet hundreds of Canadian dogs are also culled every year.

In many remote northern regions of Canada, dog overpopulation has long been managed through inhumane culls, a practice that arises not from cruelty but from a lack of resources, access to veterinary care, and sustainable support systems.

Communities are often left with no humane alternatives, facing harsh winters, limited supplies, and growing numbers of free-roaming, mostly un-owned dogs. Indigenous people (including children) in these northern communities face a significantly higher risk of dog bites every year. Community safety is jeopardized when children cannot walk safely to school, or play outside.

We try to do what we can to help, but it is literally one dog at a time. This is why it’s crucial for our government to step up—by funding spay/neuter programs, improving veterinary access, supporting community-led animal care initiatives, and investing in long-term solutions that protect both people and animals.

With meaningful support, northern communities would no longer be forced into desperate measures, and dogs could be given the chance at safety, dignity, and life.

These are not farm animals, the are domestic/companion dogs that deserve to live.

PLEASE share and help us create awareness.

Their lives matter too. 💔

Quelqu'un a-t-il perdu son bouchon de réservoir d'essence sur sa Subaru ? Je le laisserai dans la cabane.
