It's time to register for Summer Kids Camps! July is just around the corner.
Our camps offer so much more than just a day of fun. For over 30 years, we have prided ourselves on teaching kids to work together as a team, show initiative, to be creative if they encounter a problem, to be kind and encouraging of others and how to work hard and play hard. We have a 0 bullying policy. And 0 means 0 here. Our farm setting empowers them to try new things while building self esteem in a "I CAN DO IT!" Enviornment.
Animals always come first at our farm and the kids will learn what it takes to make sure they are fed, watered, cleaned and healthy. The learn age appropriate skills around the animals in a fun and stimulating setting. **NEW** You asked and we listened; we have increased the age ranges for each camp!
SCOUTS CAMPS: This camp is for boys and girls, ages 5 to 10.
9am to 3pm each day.
We try to do different things each day so every day brings new challenges and adventures and every day creates new memories that last a lifetime. They will enjoy searching for treasures in the pine forest, playing at the river on the hot days (It is a very shallow area), mastering obstacle courses, painting horses, showing their skills in team events, going on trailer rides through our herd of horses so they can safely meet each one, and of course we saddle up each day for the favourite pony rides!

ALL GIRLS HORSE/FARM DAY CAMP:
Time: 9am to 4pm each day (This is a 3 day camp)
Ages: 9 to 14
This camp is for girls who have a love for horses and want to learn while having fun and building new friendships. We have so many girls that still have lasting friendships since their first day of camp years ago. Everything is fun when you are doing it with a friend! This camp teaches girls to problem solve, show initiative, work as a team when needed and share their knowledge and accept the knowledge from others in a very encouraging setting. They will learn the basics of brushing, tacking, leading, how to ride ba****ck, play games on horseback and trail ride. Owing horses isn't all fun though and they will also learn how to clean up after their horse and we may even bring in a load of hay if we are baling that day. There is nothing better than spending time on the farm and that is exactly what we offer at Horsin Around. We are so happy to see all the familiar faces each year, and those girls will be waiting for the campers who will be coming for their first time to show them around. Our campers are exceptional kids and we are so lucky to have them.

2 children $500 (total) for all 3 days

WHAT'S NEXT?? As the girls graduate through the camps, they can then become camp leaders. Their experience in this position helps them to learn how to be reliable and responsible in their positions and goes a long way to building a resume. From there they can start riding lessons if they choose and once they have obtained certain skills, they can move up to assisting us with our trail rides and ride our lead horse or ponies while making sure riders are following instruction. This position teaches them how to speak to adults and children in a professional manner, work through any issues or barriers in communication, to work as a team with our other volunteers, to show self confidence and be a roll model to the younger kids at the barn. The girls who reach this stage have shown a real commitment for hard work, being a team player, being responsible and reliable and thinking on their feet in a sometimes high stress, fast paced environment. If they are working at the farm, they have exceeded very high expectations and have proven themselves to be the best of the best.
GIRLS/WOMEN'S BARN CLUB - This if for girls 8 up to adults! Yes ladies, this one is for you too!
Saturdays from 9am until 12pm
Think of this as the most fun you will ever have while getting dirty, playing with animals and learning all about the farm. If it happens on the farm, you are going to learn about it. Do you know how to hook up a gooseneck or tag along trailer and do a circle check of the trailer and the truck? you will. Do you know how to fix an electric fence? yep, you will eventually learn that too when the cows pull it down. Ever wanted to learn how to change a tire? Groom a horse? Take a horse on a leisurely walk down the trail? Help a cow birth a calf? Wanted to learn how to tell a healthy horse from a sick one? How to do first aid on an animal? Build a first aid kit for your own use and how to use it? Use power tools? Ride on a toboggan behind the tractor? This is your chance! And if you like snacks and pot lucks with pizza and cookies, you are really going to enjoy this one. ***FYI*** Our Barn Club members have first opportunity at any openings in the lesson program before they are offered outside the group.
$30 per Saturday (If paid monthly - at the beginning of the month)
$35 per Saturday (If paid weekly)
There is never a dull moment on the farm and we can't wait to share the experiences and our Barn Family with you!
