Gastric Scope Day — Don’t Miss It!
Did you know that a large percentage of horses — even those that look healthy — can suffer from gastric ulcers? Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS) is incredibly common in performance horses, but it can affect horses of any age, breed, or workload.
🔍 Why are ulcers such a big deal?
Gastric ulcers can cause:
• Poor performance
• Behavioral changes (girthiness, irritability)
• Weight loss or difficulty maintaining condition
• Dull coat
• Reduced appetite
• Mild or intermittent colic
Because many horses show only subtle signs, ulcers often go undiagnosed without proper evaluation.
✨ Why scope?
Gastroscopy is the only definitive way to diagnose and assess the severity of equine gastric ulcers. Scoping allows us to:
✔ Confirm whether ulcers are present
✔ Determine severity and location
✔ Create a targeted treatment plan
✔ Monitor healing and response to therapy
📅 Join us for our upcoming Gastric Scope Day: Monday, March 2nd!
This is a great opportunity to proactively check your horse’s stomach health — and take advantage of special pricing on GastroGard, available for a limited time.
