Heading to the lake this long weekend? Blue-green algae advisories have been issued for 20 Alberta lakes so far this summer, with more expected as temperatures rise. All animals including dogs, cats, livestock, and humans are susceptible to the toxins produced by blue-green algae.

Here are some tips to follow to protect animals:

- Don’t allow pets to swim or wade in water where blue-green algae is present
- Don’t let pets drink from the lake or lick algae off fur or paws
- Avoid feeding pets fish caught from lakes under blue-green algae advisories
- If you suspect your animal was exposed to algae blooms or shows symptoms, contact your veterinarian immediately

Hey everyone! We are running a puppy class every Wednesday in March from 5:30-6:30pm. We have 6 available spots for puppies from ages 12-20 weeks. We will require proof of vaccination prior to the class. The goal of this class is to help create healthy socialization and interactions with other dogs and humans. The cost is $50 for all 4 sessions. Proceeds are a donation towards the Harvest Sky Animal Rescue. This is an opportunity for your puppy to interact with other dogs and can also start to create good habits for their vet visits. To secure a spot please stop by the clinic or give us a call at 403-854-3463!
