I think that out of the many different species of parrots, my favourite has to be cockatoos. The complexity of intelligence and emotional capacity that I have seen these birds display is incredible. But this means that if you choose to have one in your home, you are essentially committing to having a child in your home. One who isn't going to grow up. They are going to be a 3 year old forever. One who throws tantrums, and can scream almost as loudly as a 747 jet. Also someone gave them a pair of wire cutters, and they can clamp them down with the force of 350 pounds per square inch. Oh yeah, and they can fly.

Do you still want to adopt a cockatoo?

It takes a very sopecial person to be able to provide them with the level of care they need. Esescially considering the above consequences becaoming a major issue, if you dont meet the cockatoo's needs.
