🐾 Nail Trim Services Now Available at HBSPCA! 🐾

Keep your pets comfortable and healthy with our dog and cat nail trim services! ✂️🐶🐱

📅 Join us on Friday June 26th at The Hamilton Burlington SPCA (245 Dartnall Rd) Our nail trim clinic will be held in the portable. Appointments are preferred, but we will do our best to accommodate walk-ins if time allows.

Cats $15.00 Dogs $25.00

📌 Important Reminder All pets must have a current rabies vaccination. You can bring your certificate to your appointment or upload it when booking. Dogs must be on a leash. Cats must be in a secure cat carrier.

💙 Our goal is to provide a safe, low-stress experience for pets, staff, and volunteers. For everyone’s well-being, we reserve the right to stop the appointment if a safe and calm environment cannot be maintained.

🐾 We Need Your Help! 🐾

Every single day at the shelter, we go through a huge amount of cat litter caring for the many cats and kittens in our care. To help keep everyone healthy and sanitary, we also use separate litter scoops for each cage — which means we are constantly running low on both litter and scoops during our daily cleaning routines. 🐱💕

If you’re able to help, donations of cat litter and litter scoops would make a huge difference for the animals in our care!

Big news for animals in Ontario - and it's thanks to advocates like you! 🐾

The province just passed a regulation banning ear cropping, declawing, and devocalization, effective January 1, 2027. This is a landmark moment for animal welfare, and proof that when people speak up, governments listen.

But puppies are still waiting for the same protection. Tail docking - removing a puppy's tail for appearance alone - was quietly left out of the ban with no explanation. Ontario remains the only province in Canada with no restrictions on this painful and unnecessary procedure.

Cats finally have the protection they deserve. Now let's make sure dogs do too. Sign our petition and help us finish the job. 🐶

At just 5 months old, this community cat was found in pain, fending for herself with a leg broken in multiple places. Brought to the HBSPCA, she received urgent medical care and time in foster care to heal and learn to trust.

Hi. My name is Sir Purrs-a-Lot and recently I had a VERY big day.

I arrived at the HBSPCA Pet Health Program with 21 other handsome gentlemen. Waiting for us was an incredible team: 1 veterinarian, 6 student veterinarians, 1 volunteer RVT, and 1 vet assistant — basically an entire fan club dedicated to making our lives better.

Now, I’ll admit… I was a little suspicious at first. There were treats, cuddles, soft blankets, and lots of people telling me I was brave and handsome. Honestly? Best spa day ever. 😸

By the end of the day, all 22 of us had been neutered through the HBSPCA Pet Health Program! That means no more contributing to the kitten population and fewer homeless cats struggling to find food, shelter, and medical care. We’re now healthier, happier, less likely to roam or fight, and ready to focus on the important things in life… naps and snacks.

A huge thank you to everyone who made today possible. Because of programs like the HBSPCA Pet Health Program, cats like me get the chance for a better future — without adding any surprise kittens to the world.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a very important nap to attend. 🐾💙
